Process Engineer (Flow Chemistry) Location : Athlone, Republic of Ireland Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday. Flexible working hours. Ref No: HRJOB9978 The Role Arran Chemical Company (part of the Almac Group) is a leader in the manufacture of speciality chemicals for a range of industries including healthcare, flavours and fragrances, personal care, and biochemical. On the back of continuous growth, Arran Chemical is looking to expand our multidisciplinary team with an exciting new role in our production team as a Process Engineer, focusing on the development and commercialisation of flow chemistry processes. Various levels of experience, from Graduate level to senior Engineers, will be considered. The successful candidate will work closely with all departments to design, commission, coordinate, and monitor flow chemistry projects and its associated equipment as an immediate priority. This role will also involve exposure to related engineering support services including maintenance, process safety, CAPEX design, and commissioning. In this position your key responsibilities will include: Working with the R&D team in the tech transfer of processes to site Provide conceptual design deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams and Material and Energy Balances Ensure that equipment is properly specified, designed, installed, and maintained Ensure right first-time delivery of robust chemistries to plant Continuously monitor yield performance and highlight changes to management What we are looking for: Essential Hold a higher degree (BSc. /MSc. /PhD. or equivalent) in a relevant science or engineering discipline. Desirable Hold a higher degree (BSc. /MSc. /PhD or equivalent) in Industrial/Organic Chemistry, Chemical/Process/Pharmaceutical Engineering. Experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment. Understanding of unit operations of chemical manufacturing. Hands-on process management experience of all aspects of chemical manufacturing processes. Understanding of statistical process analysis and control methods. Experience with Chemical Engineering Design. Experience with Flow processing. Experience in designing equipment experiment plan (i.e. DOE).
