    The Role Environmental Enforcement Officer - Hillingdon - Full-Time 40 hours per week - £27,040 per annum Full-Time | £13.00 per hour (£27,040 per annum) Rising to £13.15 per hour after 12 months Do you have a passion for protecting the environment and helping your community? Join our friendly and dedicated team as an Environmental Enforcement Officer (EEO) and help keep Hillingdon clean, safe, and environmentally sound. Every day, you will make a difference by upholding local policies and creating a cleaner, greener space for everyone. A driving license is preferred but not essential. What will you be doing?: Patrolling streets to monitor and enforce local bylaws, preventing littering, dog fouling, and environmental breaches. Assisting the public, answering enquiries, and addressing complaints with care and professionalism. Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices where required to maintain environmental standards. Conducting interviews under caution, validating offender details, and preparing cases for legal action. Working closely with legal services and attending court as a witness when required. Building strong partnerships with key service areas and agencies like the Police. What will you bring to the role?: Experience in enforcement or environmental services (cleansing, waste collection, etc.). Confidence in engaging with the public, even in confronting situations. Excellent communication skills, capable of adapting to different audiences. Strong problem-solving skills for resolving complex issues and complaints. Flexibility to cover other enforcement staff as needed. Understanding of Health and Safety and data protection protocols. A full, clean driving licence and a commitment to making a positive environmental impact. As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will patrol the area providing advice on parking restrictions and enforcing these when needed. This is an important part of keeping roads moving, ensuring public safety. You will have excellent customer care skills and be able to talk to a variety of people in a friendly but clear way. You will patrol public streets and council car parks on foot or in a car. You will be responsible for issuing Penalty Charge Notices (PCN's) to cars parked wrongly. You will guide the public on rules and advise about parking rules and conventions. Shift Patterns: 07:45- 15:40 10:30- 18:25 12:30- 20:25 14:00 – 21:55 Working hours consist of 37 hours of paid work with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Enforce car park rules and regulations. We are seeking dedicated and flexible individuals to join our team on a rotating shift pattern. This role requires working both day and night shifts on a 4 days on, 4 days off rota system. Shift timing will be confirmed in advance as part of the schedule. Applicants must be able to work both types of shifts as part of the rota. Basic Pay is €13.50 per hour with an additional €2 per hour shift allowance for all hours worked, totaling €15.50 per hour.
