Role Purpose The Field Service & Quality Engineer is responsible for the end‑to‑end technical integrity of our modular solutions. Based in Carlow, you will lead the W1 (Static Completion) quality inspections to ensure units are “Commissioning Ready”. Once dispatched, you will follow the asset to the site to manage the transition from delivery to operational handover. Key Responsibilities Internal Quality & W1 Sign‑off (Carlow Base) W1 Inspection Lead: Conduct comprehensive Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) static inspections, ensuring all installations meet project specifications and product point of destination regulatory standards. Continuity & Insulation Testing: Execute and document point‑to‑point wiring checks, megger testing and loop checks. Pre‑Commissioning Readiness: Verify that all instrumentation is calibrated and that the control architecture is physically ready for software/functional commissioning. Documentation: Compile and sign off on the Inspection & Test Pack (ITP) and “As‑Built” drawings before the unit leaves the factory floor. Field Operations & Site Integration (International) Post‑Transport Assessment: Perform a “Mirror Inspection” of the W1 status upon arrival at the site to identify any vibration‑induced loosening or structural shifts during transit. Owner Procured Delivery Sign‑off: Formally accept the unit on‑site, documenting any transit damage for insurance or rectification purposes. Contractor Support: Facilitate the initiation of, and audit the General Contractor’s Preservation Logs (e.g., verifying that space heaters are energised to prevent moisture ingress into Plant Room). Walk‑Down Management: Lead the client/client’s representative through the final “Live” walk‑downs, addressing technical queries regarding E&I layouts or mechanical interfaces. Technical Profile & Requirements Qualifications: National Craft Certificate (Electrical/Instrumentation) + 5 years’ experience in industrial environments (Data Centers, Pharma, or Power Generation preferred). Inspection Skills: Proven experience in W1/W2 commissioning workflows and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Mechanical Ability: “Cross‑skilled” capability to perform minor mechanical snags (gland plate adjustments, seal integrity, bracketry). Regulatory Knowledge (desirable): Familiarity with ATEX/EX standards and EU/EFTA electrical safety directives. Knowledge: Deep understanding of E&I standards across EU/EFTA jurisdictions. Candidate Requirements Mobility: Must be able to travel weekly within the EU/EFTA. Flexibility for future travel to the Middle East is desirable. Autonomy: Ability to work alone on remote sites while maintaining rigorous reporting standards back to the Carlow base. Communication: Strong client‑facing skills. You must hold General Contractors accountable for preservation duties without damaging the project relationship. Documentation: Proficient in digital site reporting, snagging software and reading complex P&IDs and Electrical Schematics. Working Conditions Base: Carlow, Ireland.
