Job Summary:
The Labourer- Pipe Assembly is responsible for producing high-quality work with zero defects and meeting work deadlines in a safe manner. This role involves supporting skilled trades in laying out, assembling, and installing various pipe systems, studying blueprints, measuring, cutting, and joining pipe sections, using testing equipment, and performing tasks like drilling, trimming, and filing.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in the layout, assembly, installation, or maintenance of pipe systems, pipe supports, or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, or industrial production or processing systems.
Assist in the measurement, cutting, threading, grooving, bending, assembly and installation of metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittings.
Assist in joining pipe sections.
Assist in testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and various power tools.
Clean up the work area after to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
Perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
Job Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to work with various hand tools, use Imperial measuring tape and operate an industrial powered fork truck.
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis.
Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the position.

Contacts:
Primarily internal shop staff to exchange information.
Effort (Physical & Sensory):
Continuous standing (8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week).
Regular walking, sitting, reaching, climbing or balancing, using fine motor skills; and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Regular lifting and/or moving material (50 lb).
Regular vision/sensory demands: close, distance, peripheral, depth, and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Be exposed to various environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures, fumes, chemicals, odours, noise and vibration (>80%).
Grinding tasks are notably dirty in nature.
Operate machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment ( Work at heights ( Wear safety devices, clothing or other safety procedures (e.g., harnesses, safety goggles, ear protection and steel-toed boots) (>80%).
