The Role: THE ROLE Are you mechanically or electrically minded? We're looking for skilled individuals to work on our cutting-edge fire protection systems! As a Service Technician, you will play a vital role in servicing mechanical piping systems and electrical control systems, ensuring the reliability and safety of diesel engine-driven fire pumps and engines. If you're passionate about mechanics or electrical systems and ready to take on a critical role in fire protection, we'd love to hear from you! DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance and inspection of pump units and alarm valve arrangements onsite. Fault finding and installation of control wiring systems and panels. Stripping and overhauling of pumps and alarm valves. Fault finding and installation of pumps, engines, and motors. Filling out a report after each site visit on a Company iPad. Compiling detailed work orders for items requiring repair onsite. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA Full Drivers Licence for a minimum of 12 months Must be flexible and available for overtime and stay aways depending on site location. We are internationally approved to Design, Manufacture, Install, Service & Commission to all standards & have experience in Fire Sprinkler Protection, Foam enhanced Fire Protection, Gas Suppression, Mist Protection, & Special Hazard Fire Protection. Due to continued growth Writech are seeking to recruit a number of Installation Operatives to work in our installation department with an immediate start. It is also required that operatives attend our Mullingar base before going to site. THE ROLE Our head office is based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath however our installation crews attend sites across Ireland, the UK and Europe. You will commence your position in the Mullingar workshop for a training period (duration dependant on experience) and then will work on sites with an experienced Foreman and crew to carry out mechanical installation tasks – installing pipework, fittings etc. Travel allowance to site is provided by the company. There is a pay scale in place for this position which includes payment for travel to and from work in a company vehicle. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Work as part of a team under the supervision of the Installation Foreman, Be open to learning and continual improvement Assembling and installing pipework and fittings as per company’s standard operating procedures and in-house training Attend industry/health & safety training courses as required ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be willing to learn and to stay away depending on site location. Be comfortable working at heights. Flexible regarding working hours and available for overtime when needed. Excellent safety practices Hold a valid Safe Pass Valid Manual Handling ticket (Theory and Practical Assessment) issued by QQI qualified trainer. Previous experience on construction sites Values and understands Safe Work Practices in a Construction environment DESIRED REQUIREMENTS +2 years Construction Experience Full Drivers Licence for a minimum of 12 months Abrasive Wheel Training CSCS Slinger and Signaller (Banksman) CSCS Telescopic Handler Operation (Teleporter) CSCS Mobile scaffold access tower Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Forklift training Hold a valid MEWP ticket Full driving license and clean driving record Writech is an equal employment opportunities employer.
