We have an exciting opportunity at Shannon Airport for a positive, ambitious and commercially minded leader to join WHSmith as a Store Manager. You will lead, inspire and develop your store team to deliver exceptional customer service and outstanding operational standards in a fast‑paced travel retail environment.
As Store Manager, you will take full ownership of your store’s performance, treating the business as your own while ensuring customers receive a brilliant experience—whatever journey they are taking.

Key Responsibilities
As Store Manager, you will:
Drive sales and manage costs to maximise store profitability, with full accountability for the store P&L
Lead, motivate and inspire your team to deliver excellent customer service at all times
Recruit, retain and develop a high‑performing team, positioning WHSmith as an employer of choice
Coach and develop colleagues through regular 1:1s, feedback and performance management
Create a culture of learning, inclusion, recognition and continuous improvement
Ensure high standards of visual merchandising, stock availability and store presentation
Maintain strong operational, legal and safety compliance, particularly within food retail environments
Build strong working relationships with landlords, airport partners and key stakeholders
Collaborate with other Store Managers as part of the wider Ireland leadership team
About You & Required Experience
You will be a confident and inspiring leader who leads by example and thrives in a fast‑paced retail or hospitality environment.
We’re looking for someone who has:
Proven Store Manager experience, or 1–2 years’ experience as a Deputy / Assistant Manager ready to step up
Strong commercial acumen with a customer‑first mindset
Experience setting sales targets and driving team performance
Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop others
Strong attention to detail and a passion for operational excellence
The ability to build rapport and influence a wide range of stakeholders
A proactive, resilient and solutions‑focused approach
