We are delighted to invite applications for an exciting part-time Communications Officer role based in our Wexford office. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, Operations & Compliance Officer, Programme Manager, and Programme Coordinators, playing a key role in supporting and strengthening the organisation’s communications. We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and resourceful individual with excellent IT skills. The ideal candidate for the position of Communications Officer will have: A relevant third level degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media or related field. A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in communications, digital media, content creation, and/or campaign delivery, ideally within the not‑for‑profit, community, or public sector. Proven ability to plan, write, edit, and publish high-quality, engaging content for diverse audiences across digital platforms, including websites, social media, email newsletters, and reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing and proofreading ability, with a track record of translating complex policy, programme, or funding information into clear and accessible messages. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Experience managing and maintaining website content through a content management system, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and consistency of messaging. Experience supporting or delivering communications campaigns, including content scheduling, monitoring performance, and contributing to campaign evaluation and reporting. Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy across all communications outputs. Ability to work independently as a self-starter, while also contributing positively as part of a small, collaborative team. Experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, partner organisations, funders, and community group The position is being offered on a part-time basis – 4 days / 16 hours per week and is based in WLD’s office in Wexford. (Hybrid working option available). The salary for this position will be within the range of €17,108 – €18,752 (depending on experience).
