  • Instrumentation Technician

Instrumentation Technician Contract Duration/Type: Permanent Location: Grange castle 39 Hours per week, 08:00 to 16:30 Overview of the role; The instrumentation technician will work with the Veolia Maintenance and Calibration team. He/she will liaise with the contract team, client engineering and equipment vendors for all issues relating to the automated systems in assigned building, i.e. BMS, QBMS, MCS, and VPE. He/she will resolve all automation issues relating to utilities plant and equipment, to ensure maximum uptime of same. Project work and reliability work is also part of this role as required by the current Client. Day to Day of the Role: Maintenance and troubleshooting of all clients automated systems Co-ordination and supervision of vendors and sub-contractors on site. Completion of all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules and guidelines Delivery of delegated engineering tasks in compliance with good engineering practice and all regulatory, statutory and corporate requirements. Update stores spare lists as appropriate when required Keep training current in line with client's requirements, i.e. SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), EWI's (Engineering Work Instructions), etc. When necessary, review all Maintenance Task Lists, SOP's, EWI's, and other relevant documentation to instigate the necessary changes post review All work on site to be carried out in accordance with site EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) and Veolia EHS rules and guidelines. Liaise with client Automation group Any other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract Manager Required Skills for the Role: National Craft Certificate (or equivalent) in appropriate electro-mechanical /electrical/ instrumentation discipline. Utilities Lead Technician Location: Blanchardstown Duration: Permanent 39 Hours per week: 07:30 to 16:00 Day to day of the role: Lead the execution of all aspects relating to Operation and Maintenance of Black Utilities, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and internal Quality standards and industry best practice. Shift Mechanical Technician Contract Type: Permanent Location: Blanchardstown, Dublin Shift Position Overview of the role: The utilities maintenance technician is responsible for the execution of the preventive and corrective maintenance program as per client requirements in a safe, efficient and competent manner in line with cGMP and site protocols and procedures. Duties of the Role include; Carry out work as per schedule supplied by the Maintenance Lead, Planner and as per site policies, schedules and procedures. Project Engineer (Water) Location: Co Kilkenny & Midlands (Westmeath, Longford and Roscommon) Duration: Permanent Work Hours/Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm Overview of the Role: The successful candidate will work with the Project Manager in coordinating the process/mechanical/civil/structural/electrical work associated with various Water and Wastewater Treatment contracts, nationwide, with varying complexity, in both municipal and industrial sectors. The Project Engineer will have responsibility for assisting in the design development of the water and wastewater treatment contracts from early design /concept stage through to detailed design stage and onto delivery stage. Coordinating with our internal design departments (mechanical, electrical, process & automation), our sub-consultants (civil, structural, ecological etc) and client liaison during the entire design development process. Undertaking design tasks. Assisting in the preparation of delivery documentation for client submissions including technical submissions, managing sub-consultant submissions (incl planning), preparing regulatory Health & Safety documentation, detailed design packages, tendering documentation and construction design packages. During delivery stage the Project Engineer will liaise with design teams and suppliers, manage subcontractors, installation personnel and commissioning teams to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Ensure, all equipment is sized, procured, delivered, installed, tested and ultimately commissioned in accordance with contractual requirements. The role is based in the onsite WWTP on our client site in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork where there are a no. of processes to treat discharges effluents. The role may also involve providing support to other water treatment and waste water treatment sites within the locality. The role will involve effective communication and interaction with management, team members, clients, and suppliers so as to ensure that deliverables and company goals are achieved. In executing the role it is paramount that Health & Safety, Ethical and Quality requirements, both legislative and company specific, are fully respected and taken account of. Duties of the Role include; Lab Collect samples of water, sludge, source water and processing waste in accordance with established laboratory procedures for analysis Carry out laboratory sampling and analysis Prepare glassware and equipment for laboratory use and perform lab housekeeping duties Perform a variety of basic and advanced chemical, biological and bacteriological tests on water and solids for facility assigned including BOD, COD, suspended solids, nitrogen, phosphorous, pH, pH, temperature, etc. Perform mathematical calculations and statistical analysis of test results Responsible for safe and documented disposal of spent laboratory chemicals Process Monitoring Monitor the water water process and making required process parameter changes Monitoring of SCADA trends including process flows, process instrumentation readings etc. to ensure the WWTP processes are operating in accordance with design control philosophy and producing compliant final effluent Monitoring of chemical levels, chemical consumptions, ordering and replenishment of chemicals Involvement in process optimisation Reporting Prepare timely and accurate reporting of activities including operational and maintenance data to management Liaise and interact with the Plant Manager, process technicians and O&M operatives Provision of coaching and support to Operation Technicians to improve their process knowledge and problem solving skills Assist in preparing shift, weekly, monthly and AER reports Maintenance Operate, maintain and perform routine calibrations on laboratory & fixed quality instruments Perform routine checks, reagent check and replenishment, routine calibrations etc on process monitoring instrumentation and equipment. Perform and assist with routine maintenance on plant and equipment including PM's and CM's. Complete assigned Work Orders on the computer maintenance system (CMMS-Pirana); Maintain the site to the highest standard of cleanliness On Call Use of remote monitoring tools (Log Me In etc. ) as appropriate to verify plant condition, and monitoring of alarm dial-outs Assist with On Call as above, typically one week in four Availability for response to plant failures outside normal operation hours in accordance with roster for same, and general availability to assist in remote troubleshooting where appropriate General Provide process support to other waste water & water treatment sites as required Liaise and interact with the Plant Manager and General Manager Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the plant's performance management system and the company's quality management system, safety rules, health and safety legislation and relevant environmental standards Adhere to the company's ethical conduct guidelines and maintain a working environment which is supportive and respectful of other employees Undertake duties of a general nature that may be required by your manager. Meter Reader Contract Type: 16 Month Specified Purpose Contract Location: Mobile - North-East Midlands/Leinster Overview of the role: As a Veolia Meter Reader, you will be required to travel throughout a specific region collecting water consumption data for our client. You will be involved in three distinct metering projects, primarily conducting reads through MMR (Manual Meter Reading) with some AMR (Automated Meter Reading). You will be expected to provide support to other metering projects as required from time to time. Duties of the Role include; Drive vehicles along established routes to collect consumption data from meters. Routes will include manual reads, walk-by and drive-by meter reading. Routes will be made available on an android tablet for navigation purposes. Meter Reader to review route and plan optimal daily route. Read water meters and enter data onto hand-held devices. Where a meter read cannot be achieved, a "skip" must be entered from a predefined list. Record any issues found on site and add photographic evidence. Ensure regular uploads of data to enable the project manager and the client to monitor progress. Report any network concerns such as meter irregularities or impediments to meter access on handheld. Report maintenance or equipment issues to both the Veolia Project Manager and the MDMSP (Meter Data Management Service Provider). Direct Customers to the Uisce Eireann Customer Service Centre in the case of billing queries. Update GPS locations to ensure continuous improvement of the network. Local knowledge of the area is beneficial but not essential. On the non-domestic metering projects where AMR reading has not yet been enabled, meters will be required to be read manually. The Meter Reader will be required to use the equipment provided to open the boundary box, pump out the chamber and read the meter. Bulk meters will be read by two people using safety lifting keys. Regular water meters will be read manually and data entered into hand-held devices. Ensure all client deadlines and key performance indicators are consistently met. Continue to meet daily/quarterly read targets. Ensure continuous improvement of the project by working with the team to combat inefficiencies, timely report of issues.
