    We are currently looking for a Receptionist to join the team at The Lodge at Ashford Castle. Who are we? The Lodge at Ashford Castle is sitting within the magnificent 350 acre estate of Ashford Castle, this property overlooks magical Lough Corrib. Originally built in 1865, The Lodge offers country house charm, fine dining in Wilde's Restaurant and an exceptional range of estate activities. One of Ireland's finest wedding destinations, pairing warm Irish hospitality with a modern appeal. Your key responsibilities as a Receptionist include providing the guest, at all times, with the highest levels of guest care and personal attention, anticipating the guests needs and initiating actions to exceed expectations; dealing with all arrivals and all departures in a friendly and efficient manner in line with hotel standards ; answer calls in a warm and welcoming manner and effectively transfer calls to correct extensions ; supporting the reservations team in completion of reservations as required ; operate computerised system (Opera Cloud) for reservations, arrivals and departures ensuring all information is accurate and up to date. What are we looking for in a Receptionist? Have a friendly & outgoing personality Previous experience is a plus Be enthusiastic & flexible (may need to work 3 days to 4 days over 7 day period, inclusive of some weekends) Have good communication skills Have strong attention to detail Be legally eligible to work in Ireland Have the ability to handle busy situations and manage your workload effectively Knowledge of Opera system is a plus. Your key responsibilities as Director of Operations include: To provide leadership and direction to all departments To provide leadership in ensuring that set agreed standards are managed and monitored on a daily basis To ensure all departments provide exceptional service and guest attention To assist in the operation at key times during service both morning and evening To assist Duty Managers with shifts To hold a bi-weekly/ monthly objective-setting meeting covering all aspects of the department To complete all aspects of People Management responsibilities from one to ones to annual appraisals To support the People and Culture team to ensure all departments complete their people management responsibilities To ensure training is conducted in all departments To ensure development of all employees To provide innovation to the departments and operations To attend monthly HOD and Executive Meetings To be involved in the recruitment process of the department To attend quarterly Health and Safety Inspections with the company retained advisor To manage the action points following the quarterly inspections with the relevant departments Management of the legal service and inspection requirements of the property and equipment To plan and manage any in-house projects including cost Management of the P&L monthly accounts Management of the purchase order process within each department, ensuring that all cost lines are in line with the budget Liaising with the hotel assistant financial controller on all cost aspects for the hotel To attend monthly P&L meeting reporting on the previous month's accounts Involvement in the production of the annual Sales and Marketing Plan, P&L and payroll Management of the monthly payroll of the rooms division departments including the updating of our HR system (Alkimii) To manage the capital expenditure budget including any unplanned agreed capital projects To review all hotel contracts on an annual basis What are we looking for in a Director Of Operations ? Hospitality Degree or higher Have a minimum of 2 years experience in an Operations or Food and Beverage Management role. Possess a strong knowledge and passion for food, beverage and banqueting, rooms and front office. Strong ability to manage all cost controls e.g. food cost, labour etc. Experience of staff training, rotas, financial reporting, stock control and ordering. Excellent communication and team leadership skills. Excellent organisational skills. Good ability to handle pressurised situations and busy periods. To be responsible for the day to day running of your section and for all staff working in your section. To be aware of all functions, banquets etc taking place onsite, ensuring that you pre-plan dishes appropriately to the agreed standard, while being mindful of stock control etc. To plan your time effectively in order to carry out your responsibilities in the most efficient manner. To maintain a good working relationship with all kitchen and restaurant staff. To be familiar with modern trends in cooking and to input ideas and suggestions for improvements and/or new dishes for your section. To adhere to Food Hygiene and HACCP Regulations and monitor Commis Chef's compliance. The ideal candidate for the Chef de Partie position should: Hold a formal qualification in Professional Chef/Culinary Skills. Have previous experience at a Demi Chef de Partie or Chef de Partie level, working within a 4 or 5 Star Kitchen. Key responsibilities of the Bar Person will include: To warmly welcome guests into the Bar ensuring a warm, welcoming and friendly demeanour at all times To ensure the bar is always fully stocked and ready for service (prepare mis en place) adhering to set standards. To ensure the Bar area is kept clean and tidy at all times and that cleaning schedules are adhered to. To be responsible for the professional dispensing and serving of drink, with the minimum of fuss or delay. To learn, fully understand and be able to describe accurately all drinks on the menus so that all guests' questions can be answered correctly and without delay. The ideal candidate for the Bar Person position will enjoy working within a friendly and productive team and have excellent communication skills. This is a casual position, therefore hours of work may vary, however all candidates would need to be available to work five days a week between Monday and Sunday.
