To ensure we can provide exceptional service to all those who visit The CCD, we are currently seeking a Senior ICT Engineer to join our team at The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) on a full-time permanent basis.
Key Objective
To provide a fit for purpose service to both internal corporate users and to external clients of The CCD by ensuring the server and network system are maintained at their optimal level. To take responsibility of the key areas of the ICT team that keep the business operating at an optimal level and provide support for more junior members of the ICT team.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Network Management (LAN/WAN)
Support, maintain, manage the Corporate LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi
Wireless Infrastructure configuration and management and design
Liaise with Carriers on installation, configuration, and problem resolution
Network Monitoring
Management and support of firewalls and remote access solutions
Ensure compliance with industry best practice security standards
Responsibility for Cisco Core infrastructure including VLANS and VRFs
Responsibility for overall Server and storage infrastructure
Manage vendors who act in a support role for ICT services and hardware devices and report on their SLA compliance
System Management
Support and integration of software systems, both general desktop packages and business specific packages
Management and design of Active Directory and Office365
SAN Management and monitoring
Microsoft SharePoint support, design and backup
VMware and ESX Cluster Management
General application and SQL database support and backup
Help with the design and implementation of Disaster recovering and continuity planning
Manage Planned Preventative Maintenance schedules and assign role to tasks
Manage all software licenses within the business
Manage all hardware warranties and support contracts
Desktop Environment Management
Responsible for hardware research and device selection (with team)
Service desk ticketing monitoring
Coms room oversee of cabling and Patch Management
Instruction of other teams members on correct build and rollout of desktops
Event/Client Management
Liaise with external clients to identify requirements and raise service orders
Take part in the design and delivery of client events (after hours and weekends)
Support, troubleshooting, resolution of clients, exhibitors and delegates issues
Configure infrastructure based on event/client requirements
Sign off on designs and implementation by other ICT engineers
Project Management
Develop business cases proposal
Develop project plans
Hold project meetings
Manage and implement projects
Managing projects of the other team engineers
Other Responsibilities
Take part in the On-Call support process
Attending sessions of communication for senior managers and communicating down.
Decision maker when HoD is unavailable
Responsible for technical documentation creation and distribution
Duties and responsibilities will vary from time to time and the post holder will be expected to perform other such duties that reasonably comparable; adhere to Company health, safety and environmental policies; maintain a safe working environment and ensure your work activities are safe.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have:
10 years in an IT role
3 years in a people management role
Experience of 3-5 years working with Cisco infrastructure (Cisco qualified)
Experience of 3-5 years in VMware Server implementation
Experience of 5-7 years in Microsoft Server environment (Microsoft qualified)
Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills
Evidence of a strong customer service focus
Strong team-working and communication skills
Project management experience
Ability and experience in managing team of engineers
Developing long term ICT strategies for the business
Identify and highlight risks to the business from an ICT perspective
Ability to talk up to Senior managers
Demonstrate strong customer service values and understanding
Provide innovative technical solutions for the business
