This is a hybrid working role which requires travel to the customers site in Dublin 2 days per week. What you'll do: Provide technical leadership across complex, mission critical systems supporting Emergency Services Networks and control room environments Own the design, implementation, and ongoing improvement of back-end infrastructure and systems. Lead root cause analysis for major or recurring incidents, driving permanent corrective actions. Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex technical issues. Ensure high availability, resilience, security, and performance of Windows and Linux Servers, SQL Server, and virtualised environments. Engage directly with customers, explaining technical issues, solutions, and risks in a clear and professional manner. Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation and knowledge bases (WiKi, KEDB) for customer network and systems infrastructure, enabling engineering teams to quickly access critical information and accelerate incident and problem resolution Support and mentor engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.Who you are: You are an experience Systems Engineer with exposure to working in complex and high-pressured environments. With strong expertise in SQL, Windows Server, and virtualisation, you are collaborative and clear in your communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, taking pride in delivering resilient systems that support critical services. Key Requirements: Proven experience working directly with customers, providing guidance and support across all aspects of systems engineering. Strong hands-on experience with Windows and Linux systems, including administration and troubleshooting. Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and other relational database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL). Practical experience with virtualisation technologies, including VMware and data centre infrastructure. Experience managing application servers, including updates, imaging, and patch management (e.g., WSUS, ManageEngine). Strong technical skills with proven ability to solve complex problems in high-pressure, mission-critical environments. Demonstrated leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor engineers and lead investigations.
