What you will do We have a vacancy for an Electrical Technician to join our team based in Cork. You will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of Intelligent Traffic System equipment and maintaining and administrative overview of contract details. You will also: Completing any planned ITS equipment maintenance activities and routine electrical testing. Liaising with Service Delivery Manager and Customer to raise and discuss any problems or issues. Maintaining and accurate Fault Record - on the Fault Management System. Ensuring the adherence to ISO 45001 and ensuring all completed work aligns with all SWARCO quality and health/safety requirements. Responding to fault reports and call out within service level agreements. Caring for vehicle, tools, spares, and equipment to be used in the course of your duties - ensuring they are in a safe and serviceable condition. What we are looking for FETAC Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/National Craft Certificate (Electrical)/Cisco Networking (CCNA) qualification -OR- Electrical Engineering qualification. Practical experience in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Networking and Instrumentation as a Communications Technician or similar. Experience working with fibre optic networks (ie. Stripping, Testing and Splicing). Familiar with the Microsoft Office Applications - especially MS Excel.   • Senior Network Technician

    Overview Senior Network Technician role at SWARCO. This position will be the technical face of SWARCO to customers across Ireland, developing their network architecture and communication resilience. You will travel from site to site for fault-finding, maintenance, and optimisation of network operations. Responsibilities Install, configure, and commission networking equipment such as switches, routers, antennas, and media converters. Provide Level 2 support for in-house IT infrastructure (Windows Server, Microsoft 365, networking, printers, etc.). Design and maintain robust, scalable industrial networks including Fibre Optics backbone, wireless point-to-point links, and IoT device networks; optimise network performance. Assist with backups, patching, and basic cybersecurity controls. Travel across Ireland to engage with customers and support network operations on-site. Profile / What we are looking for Proven experience designing and maintaining industrial or enterprise-grade networks. Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VPNs). Proficiency configuring switches, routers, firewalls (Cisco, OTN, Hirshman, AMG or similar) and wireless (PtP/LoS) network technologies.
