This Work Placement Experience Programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. The programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Eligibility will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.
Job Description The eligible participant will receive full training in all aspects of the placement. A mentor will guide and coach the participant. You’ll develop strong customer service skills by working directly with the public, building confidence, and communicating with people from all backgrounds. As part of an experienced team, you’ll learn how to collaborate effectively, grow interpersonal skills, and gain experience in a supportive environment. Spending time in the charity shop setting also helps you understand the role community support plays in addressing social issues, giving you a deeper sense of purpose and awareness. You’ll receive hands‑on training in areas such as cash handling, a valuable skill for future employment. Overall, your time with Vincents will focus on building confidence, strengthening personal development, and helping you grow in a meaningful and practical way.
