Key Duties and Responsibilities Act as a therapeutic dietitian for upper GI surgery patients requiring home enteral feeding to expedite safe discharge. Develop, implement and monitor nutritional care plans to meet individual patient needs using evidence‑based practice. Communicate and work effectively with patients, carers, colleagues, UGI Surgery multidisciplinary team, community colleagues and other health professionals to deliver quality care in a multi‑disciplinary team setting. Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of dietetic care pathways, effective and efficient referral processes, protocols and other resources in this area. Develop dietetic service to patients ensuring most effective use of resources to meet the agreed goals for the Clinical Nutrition service in this area. Maintain appropriate records and regular activity reports. Actively participate in service planning for the Clinical Nutrition service to upper GI Surgery, general surgery and other areas as assigned. Supervise staff grade dietitians as required. Initiate and participate in nutrition‑related research and quality improvement in this area. Write up and disseminate results.
