  • Head of Sales (B2C)

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role The Head of Sales (B2C) plays a pivotal role in SSE Airtricity's ambition to become the market leading supplier of energy and low carbon solutions. This is an opportunity to join our business as a key influencing figure in the sales organisation. The role is vital to achieving the strategic objective of acquiring and retaining more profitable customers by upgrading and executing a successful innovative sales and retention strategy. The role has leadership and management responsibility for all B2C channels including field, contact centre, digital, partnerships and home moves. There may be opportunities to deputise for the Director of Sales on related matters with the Airtricity Leadership Team and events as appropriate. You will Own and have full accountability for the B2C base and customer numbers Forecast for and deliver against all B2C sales campaigns across all territories Take accountability for the ROI domestic sales P&L and find new revenue streams and profitable partnerships in addition to optimising existing channels Lead the B2C sales team comprising 5 senior managers and a domestic sales organisation with over 100 colleagues Utilise all available data to constantly optimise the channel and investment strategy to drive base growth and maximise overall P&L value You have Experience as an operational sales leader in a regulated industry, and the credibility to lead within a complex organisation. You can demonstrate an ability to build and develop teams of amazing people that grow and succeed under your guidance. An exceptional mix of commercial, sales, and delivery leadership skills. You can demonstrate a growth mindset and prove you have delivered significant growth directly and indirectly via the leads you have lead. You have experience in cross selling and upselling leveraging a portfolio of offers across a base of new and existing customers A strong understanding of key commercial concepts, which will include insight, value management, customer experience and financial performance. Strong experience of driving change, with a flexible attitude to working with classic and agile project management techniques. You have a proven track record using technology to optimise sales processes and performance. This should include AI, and Customer Engagement Management software and tools. The ability to forge compelling commercial proposals, sell business cases and to responsibly manage budgets to create current and future value for SSE. This is a high performing team who are tasked with collecting outstanding debt across the Island of Ireland, ensuring that our valued customers operate within their agreed payment terms and that relationships remain positive and professional. You will Contact customers in arrears, prioritising aged debt collection, and ensuring prompt invoice payments. Handle queries efficiently to maintain positive and professional relationships with our valued customers. Ensure full compliance with all regulatory obligations and data protection. Liaise with third-party organisations regarding collections and payment plans, and ensure smooth communication internally and externally. Adopt a flexible approach to working across all teams in operations. You have Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong time-management and organisational skills. The ability to meet business deadlines and to deliver objectives. The ability to deal with multiple issues at the same time and prioritise workload to achieve results. Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable or a related finance role is preferred, but is not essential. This is an opportunity to shape how large-scale renewable assets deliver value-while supporting the transition to a net zero energy system. You will Maximise value across renewable energy investments, identifying opportunities to improve revenues, reduce costs and manage risk. Lead commercial input into contracts and negotiations, working closely with delivery and procurement teams to achieve balanced outcomes. You will also contribute to AI and automation initiatives, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient solutions that drive innovation and operational excellence across the organisation.
