What you will be doing? Maintaining excellent working relationships with Clients from project start to handover; acting as our ambassador with Clients and all other stakeholders. Liaise with Management and wider project coordinators, design and build teams to schedule, keep track and report on project status. Ensure Health and Safety rules are followed by all workers and comply with codes of practice, method statements and regulations. Perform and track project safety audits and performance. Ensure all financial control and tracking for production and costs meets the defined goals. Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget. Actively manage risks and issues and propose solutions to those that will have an impact on delivery timelines or quality. Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, manage dependencies and critical path deliverables impacting the delivery programme. Attend and chair all project meetings with clients and management and report on progress. Hold weekly progress meetings with sub-contractors and ensure that safety and training are discussed. Ensure audits are carried out by the person responsible on-site for Quality Control in accordance with the design plan. Ensure resource availability and allocation. Is this the job for me? Trade qualification through Apprenticeship or Engineering qualification. 5+ years project manager level experience. Relevant H&S qualification, i.e. IOSH Managing Safely or similar. Proven experience in managing a project from scoping out project(s)' requirements and resources in line with strategic company objectives to the completion and delivery of the project. Experience managing electrical substation complex projects preferably with infrastructure/construction deployments. In-depth knowledge of Project Management methodology and practices. Strong communicator with proven ability to create and foster strong teams and build cross-functional relationships. Proven experience in managing, coordinating, and developing staff. Experience in supporting a continuous improvement culture amongst the project team. Experience in High Voltage projects and an awareness of Engineering processes and best practices. IT Literacy. Roles and Responsibilities Manage the implementation of the STS Quality Management System (QMS) on site by STS direct and subcontracted workforce and parties. Develop and coordinate project specific quality plans. Responsible for the implementation and execution of a consistent Construction Quality Audit program. Develop and coordinate the Inspection and Test Plans from all contractors for all works packages. Manage quality benchmarking, first of kinds etc, to ensure agreed and approved standards of workmanship before commencement of each work package. Lead the project team in developing innovative approaches and solutions to enhance QA/QC attention and impact on the project. Provide training to project personnel on the project’s QA/QC plan. Liase with the client and maintain satisfactory relations between client and STS in matters relating to construction QA/QC. Proven track record of successfully leading teams to deliver exceptional results on similar projects. Hold qualifications in QA/QC or equivalent disciplines, or demonstrable equivalent experience. Strong strategic planning and tactical execution abilities. Experience working as part of cross-functional project teams at all levels. Proficiency in relevant IT tools and systems. Qualifications Degree, and / or Diploma, and / or craft qualified with additional Construction qualifications. Demonstrated construction experience.
