Job Description – Fire Safety Consultant We’re looking for a fire safety superstar to join our team and make a real impact. You’ll lead on fire risk assessments, compartmentation and fire door surveys, while also providing expert advice, reviewing plans, developing and auditing management procedures, and delivering engaging fire safety training. This role offers the opportunity to progress into a more senior position, eventually taking the lead, shaping a growing team and expanding a client base across Ireland. Your Key Responsibilities Will Include Conducting Fire Risk Assessments Performing Fire Compartmentation & Integrity Surveys Carrying out Fire Door Inspection Qualifications Minimum 5 years current experience of conducting full and comprehensive fire risk assessments Working knowledge of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 Full understanding of building regulations and the associated requirements for fire safety and knowledge of relevant guidance documents Understanding and knowledge of the requirements for compartmentation within construction, including floors, walls, doors, fire stopping installations, penetration sealing products and techniques, and fire/smoke dampers Detailed knowledge of British Standards relating to fire safety and installations (fire alarms, emergency lighting, fire safety signage, fire extinguishers, suppression systems, etc.) Identify hazards and associated risks, provide guidance to remove or reduce the risks to an acceptable level and manage the remaining risks Produce detailed reports using SOCOTEC UK Limited templates, within required timescales to meet project KPIs and expected standards Help guide clients through the necessary statutory requirements to ensure compliance and maintain our expected service levels Benefits Competitive salary, 25 days holiday (plus additional days available), an electric car scheme (where applicable), employee recognition programmes, family‑friendly support, exclusive retail discounts, employee assistance programmes, and an enhanced company pension. A background in engineering (mechanical, structural, civil or similar field) and knowledge of fire safety issues, relevant legislation, and design guidance such as Approved Document B (ADB), BS 9999, BS 9991, and BS 7974 is essential to thrive in this position.
