  • Purpose of the Role: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Lead to drive new business opportunities aimed at establishing a world-leading ecosystem in the UK to support the manufacturing and delivery of life-transforming therapies to patients. This senior leadership position will report to the Chief Business Officer and play a key role in shaping business development strategies, particularly in manufacturing and supply chain projects within the cell and gene therapy or biologics industry. Key Responsibilities: Lead business development efforts to build and manage relationships with both UK and international collaborators. Develop and execute strategy for manufacturing and supply chain innovation, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives. Source, develop, and maintain key collaborator relationships, working collaboratively with internal teams to support business growth. Provide ongoing market feedback and insights to senior leadership, contributing to the evolution of business development and operational strategies. Perform any other duties required to support the successful execution of the company’s mission. Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a business development role within the cell and gene therapy or biologics industry, with a focus on manufacturing. Strong understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) manufacturing requirements. Skills & Competencies: Highly motivated, pragmatic, and practical, with a commitment to supporting the development of a commercial cell and gene therapy-based industry. High commercial awareness with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels across departments. Proven track record of leadership and successful personnel management, including the ability to motivate and develop teams. Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with a focus on achieving results in complex business environments. Willingness to travel, with approximately 50% of the time spent working at different facilities and locations.
