How You’ll Make an Impact SiriusXM’s Services and Platform Engineering organization is growing in Dublin. We’re hiring software engineers at almost all levels across a variety of teams – content and playback services, commerce, identity, vehicle and device services. Our engineers build the next‑generation production services that power SiriusXM and Pandora, serving tens of millions of listeners across North America. What You’ll Do Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of engineers, product managers, and designers. Build scalable, performant, and resilient backend systems that support critical business needs. Participate in system design and architecture reviews to influence technical direction. Drive software quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous integration. Contribute to a positive and inclusive engineering culture through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and leadership at your level. Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in production environments. Author and review technical design documents, RFCs, and root‑cause analyses. Continuously learn and grow in your engineering craft and domain knowledge. Participate in an on‑call rotation to ensure swift resolution of any production outages involving your systems. What You’ll Need 5+ years of professional experience. Expert‑level fluency in at least one programming language and strong system design skills. Experience leading the design, development, and operation of complex distributed systems in a modern cloud provider. Deep knowledge of REST API design, scalability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization. Demonstrated ability to own projects end‑to‑end and mentor junior engineers. Significant experience with production infrastructure, observability, and incident management. Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines and teams. Clear understanding of engineering best practices and architectural principles. Nice to Have Deep familiarity with AWS cloud services across compute, storage, and serverless. Familiarity with integrating machine learning models or services into Java/Scala based services is highly desirable. Experience defining and evolving team‑wide coding standards and operational practices. Expertise in Scala and/or functional programming patterns. How you’ll make an impact As a member of the software test team at SiriusXM, you will be joining a team of SDET (Software Development Engineers in Test) and Test Engineers responsible for testing of SiriusXM software and products related, but not limited to, in-vehicle infotainment systems and aftermarket SiriusXM products. The Senior Software Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing and executing test procedures to ensure that software programs work as intended. This position will be part of the software development team. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a cooperative manner with software engineers, product and program managers. What you’ll do Work with software engineers, program managers, requirements managers, and other product stakeholders to understand product features and the complete set of requirements for the software. Assist in the development of end-to-end automated & manual test cases. Work closely with development teams to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the components and systems developed. Develop, maintain and execute test cases, ensuring the quality and stability of the system throughout the project. Generate testing completion metrics and analysis, as well as status read-outs to upper management. Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, traceability matrices, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software systems to ensure compliance with software/system specifications. Anticipate potential software problems by creating test scenarios. The candidate will execute test cases and report issues (analyse logs and submit tickets) in the SXM test framework. What you’ll need 3-5+ years’ experience as a Test engineer. Experience in Test Frameworks (Google Test, JUnit, Boost.Test). Experience with Linux: 3+ years of experience performing software testing in a Linux environment (Ubuntu, CentOS). Experience in test automation. Experience with tools – Jira, Git, Bash, Charles (An HTTP proxy / HTTP monitor / Reverse Proxy that enables a developer to view all of the HTTP and SSL/HTTPS traffic between their machine and the Internet, including requests, responses and the HTTP headers). Experienced in Consumer or Automotive Client Application. Experienced in Tools for test automation development. Application of software development life cycle concept. Knowledge and application of at least one programming language. Requirements and General Skills History working with automation frameworks, analyse logs, report issues. Tester's Mindset – Strong testing acumen as well as the technical know-how to automate the work. Troubleshooting – Exceptional ability to isolate & troubleshoot technical issues across the full technology stack by leveraging automated testing methodologies. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to details. Knowledgeable of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
