  • Role & Responsibilities Responsible for tracking both hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensuring compliance with regulations, planning waste loads, and managing the necessary paperwork. Analyze waste streams and packaging at the source, reviewing and implementing waste segregation programs to enhance and streamline waste management practices on-site. Act as a subject matter expert on waste management, providing support to the site EHS department. Assist the Total Waste Management Coordinator in developing guidance documents for waste improvement projects and segregation initiatives, ensuring effective dissemination throughout the site. Register and report all waste movements. Ensure proper waste identification at the source. Experience and Qualifications Required Bachelor’s Degree in an Environmental-related field. Sound knowledge of Hazardous Waste Operations and ADR/IMDG regulations regarding hazardous waste movements. Previous experience in a related Environmental (waste) role is advantageous. Waste Management : You will oversee the movement of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste on site, ensuring all waste movements are accurate and compliant with the proper materials and paperwork. You will be the main point of contact for all waste movements. Storage and Identification : Ensure correct signage and identification are present at storage locations, and manage the proper storage of waste materials. Handle the organization and preparation of empty receptacles and ensure waste materials are ready for safe transport. Waste Registration : Maintain complete and accurate waste registration, ensuring compliance with legal and customer requirements. Meetings and Audits : Attend monthly operations and waste-related meetings, participate in site audits, and provide necessary support and information. Advise customers on waste handling procedures and provide training when required. Ensure that inductions, permits, and method statements are signed off for each job. Documentation and Monitoring : Audit paperwork regularly, stay updated with SOPs on customer systems, conduct haulier audits, and monitor vendors to ensure their approval. Experience and Qualifications Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification. 1-2 years of experience in waste management or relevant sectors such as Pharma, Production, or Petro-Chemical industries. Experience or knowledge in chemical handling. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with MS Office. Strong team player. Preferred Qualifications: Proven expertise in sustainability, including advisory services in sustainability reporting, strategy development, supply chain sustainability, decarbonization, and sustainability due diligence. Familiarity with recent frameworks and regulations, such as CSRD, CSDDD, TSRS, TCFD, and IFRS S1 & S2, along with knowledge of the SBTi framework. Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget. Strategic thinker capable of transforming concepts into actionable sustainability practices. Creative problem-solving skills to address client-specific sustainability challenges.
