Westmeath Long-Term Project (3–4 Years) Start: Early / Mid-February We are currently recruiting an experienced senior setting-out engineer for a busy large-scale residential development in Mullingar. This is a site-based, long-term role offering excellent job security and future progression on major residential projects. The Role You will take a lead role in all setting-out and engineering activities on site, working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team to ensure accurate, high-quality delivery across all phases of the development. Key Responsibilities Full responsibility for setting out houses, duplexes, apartments, roads, and services Accurate setting of foundations, rising walls, drainage, kerbs, columns, beams, and slabs Supervision of groundworks, block layers, steel fixers, shuttering carpenters, and concrete pours Taking levels and surveys and maintaining detailed site records Producing and managing as-built drawings Liaising with Irish Water , local authorities, and design teams Assisting with QA, BCAR compliance, and document control Supporting Health & Safety procedures and site audits Requirements 5+ years’ experience as a setting-out/site engineer on Irish residential projects Strong experience in large housing developments Excellent knowledge of groundworks, RC, timber frame, and traditional build Proficient with total station, GPS, and surveying equipment Strong communication and organisational skills Ability to work independently and lead the setting-out team.
