  • Site Engineer

    The Client and overview of the Role: My Client are a Connacht-based Construction Main Contractor with an annual turnover circa €100m. They have numerous live projects in the West and Mid-West region and can offer continuity of work. They are involved projects for; pharma, industrial, educational, sports, commercial and residential buildings. Due to a number of awarded contracts for Pharma, Housing and Public works, I am looking for a number of Setting-Out Engineers to work in the Co. Donegal and Co. Sligo region. They can hire someone straight out of College or with years of experience as Site Engineers/Senior Site Engineers. You will have to Set-Out, regardless of experience, but the rest of your responsibilities will vary depending on your experience. You'll be working as part of a team and will also be responsible for producing As-Built drawings and various other documents for Technical Submittals (Irish Water, ESB, Local Authorities etc.). Main responsibilities will include: Working closely with on-site and off-site management teams to set-out the project. Check plans and drawings to ensure all calculations are accurate. Check shuttering, steel and other dimensions prior to concrete pours. Liaise with subcontractors, clients and internal teams to ensure that program targets are met/exceeded where possible Produce As-Built drawings and manage technical submittals for utilities, local authorities etc. Come up with solutions to problems, where necessary. Oversee quality control and health and safety on site. Maintain materials reconciliation files. Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. 1-20+ years experience as a Site Engineer/Senior Site Engineer with a Main Contractor or Residential Developer. Experience using setting out equipment - Eg. total station, GPS and laser levels. Knowledge of temporary works coordination. Strong attention to detail and able to work on own initiative.     The Client and overview of the opportunity: My Client are a €140m+ turnover, Family-owned Main Contractor. They have a really good name in the market and over 80 years of continuous trading. The Construction Director and Project Manager over this particular project are great to work for and have been with the business 20+ years each. They have a number of exciting projects coming up in the West and Mid-West over the next few months. This business are hiring for the future and are keen to bring people in who would like to progress over time. Currently looking for an experienced M&E Co-Ordinator / Building Services Engineer to look after a c.€40m 5* Hotel renovation project in Co. Clare. This project is expected to take around 3 years to complete and the contract is only a few weeks after being awarded. Joining now will mean you can look after the entire project from start-to-finish. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate mechanical and electrical subcontractors to ensure works are carried out in the correct sequence and to program. Review M&E drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and buildability. Assist in developing and maintaining M&E installation schedules. Ensure M&E works comply with Irish regulations, building control requirements, industry standards and project specifications. Solve technical queries and discrepancies. Monitor the quality of M&E installations throughout the construction phase. Conduct regular site inspections Review RAMS and commissioning documentation. Act as the main point of contact between site operations, M&E subcontractors, and the design team. Attend site coordination meetings and circulate minutes or updates as required. Support the Site Manager and Project Manager in managing M&E-related queries and instructions. Review and compile O&M manuals and handover documentation. Degree/Diploma in Construction related subject or trade qualified in plumbing/mechanical/HVAC/electrical 5+ years' experience in an M&E coordination or building services role on Irish construction sites. Strong understanding of Irish building regulations, BCAR and industry best practices. Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, plumbing, and related building services systems. Valid Safepass and Manual Handling certificates would be great. They currently have a minimum 5no. years of work lined up as they have planning agreed for 400no. units across 3no. sites in Co. Kerry. They also have 200no.+ units and several sites to build on in Co. Limerick. Whats on offer: Opportunity to work on high-end residential builds in Co. Kerry, Co. Limerick or Co. Cork A minimum of 5 years work in Co. Kerry agreed.
