Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support the delivery of our renewable energy projects. This role focuses on carrying out surveys, energy audits, and technical assessments of domestic properties to ensure compliance with building and SEAI regulations. You will play a key part in evaluating existing buildings, advising on remedial works, and supporting the design and delivery teams to achieve high-quality, energy-efficient installations. Responsibilities: Meeting with clients to discuss project plan and construction requirements. Inspecting existing buildings for flaws and defects. Carrying out feasibility studies Gathering and reviewing data ahead of energy audits. Conducting energy engineering calculations on dwellings.Perform quality assessments on energy efficient works Conducting various types of domestic energy audits, surveys and reports to a high and professional standard Drafting scheme designs, timelines, and specification for works. Advising on health and safety aspects of construction. Advising on boundary and wall placement. Advising on environmental impact, energy efficiency, and sustainability. Advising on contractors and organizing documents.Coordinate and liaise with subcontractors on site Sort variations that are picked up on survey. Pass a complete file on each contract to the relevant Project Managers to complete works. Working as part of a wider team offering support to colleagues and clients Support Project Managers in all technical activities during the design and works stages Requirements Proven experience as a Building Surveyor or in a similar technical surveying role. Strong knowledge of current building regulations and SEAI guidelines. Ability to perform precise measurements and provide accurate technical data. Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills for working with homeowners, contractors, and colleagues. As our Community Project Development Engineer, youll be the steady link between community ambition and practical delivery. Working closely with the Community Solutions Manager, you will help shape how SE Systems supports groups through the full grant application processturning good ideas into funded, achievable projects. Youll also collaborate with Sustainable Energy Communities and contribute to the SE Systems Community Fund, ensuring resources reach those who need them most. This is a dynamic role that requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and proactive communication. You will manage the development and administration for both new and existing clients while balancing multiple priorities with professionalism and care. Role Description: Project Development Liaising with community groups, organising quotes for energy audits, providing information on financial supports available, coordinating with project managers and the grants teams. Meeting clients on site to carry out high-level site suitability assessments for energy retrofitting measures and grants. Identifying energy saving opportunities and measures, making recommendations on potential solutions to implement. Organising quotes for projects both internally and externally with subcontractors. Applying engineering and building services knowledge to review energy efficiency issues and analyse, design and develop potential solutions. Assisting with projects from development stage right through to delivery stage liaising with the various stakeholders. Reviewing progress and quality on contractor works to ensure it is done to scope and meets the required standards. Coordinating multi-trade works (insulation, plumbing, electrical, ventilation, enabling works). Schedule and manage subcontractors and site activities. Grants Coordination Providing full administration and technical support to community clients for grant applications. Managing grant funding documentation for community retrofitting projects; reviewing project applications to ensure all the correct documents are on file. Tracking all projects and application submissions to ensure internal deadlines and SEAI deadlines are met. Supporting sub-contractors and stakeholders to meet tight application deadlines, ensuring that all documentation is completed on time. Communicating with clients on the progress of their grant applications. Preparing internal project schedules and reports for review. Review of Targets and Milestones with Senior Management Providing administrative support to the SEAI Communities Energy Grant Scheme Team. What you need to succeed: Background in energy engineering, construction management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and/or building services. Experience coordinating/managing construction or retrofit projects. Meticulous attention to detail with a desire to take initiative and be proactive. Excellent IT skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word and Power Point) and strong knowledge of SharePoint. Ability to manage multiple deadlines while ensuring a high level of professionalism is maintained. Time management and ability to demonstrate resilience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Results-driven with ability to build strong client relationships. Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills. 3+ years professional experience. Full, valid Irish or EU/EEA driving licence. Desirable Criteria but not mandatory: Previous experience in grant applications/ tendering/ technical administration/document management.
