Objective of this post: The principal objective of the post is to provide teaching, co-ordination and examining of RCSI's PA programme through the expert delivery of didactic PA education modules and elements, including the mentoring of PA students throughout their post graduate experience. RCSI is seeking a professional who is passionate about teaching, who would like to contribute to working as an academic in a multicultural environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate energy, initiative and excellent organisation and communication skills. The post-holder will be based in the PA Programme as part of the School of Medicine. Specific Responsibilities include: Didactic Teaching - Deliver lectures, labs, and small group sessions in assigned content areas. - Develop, update, and assess course materials and examinations. Clinical Teaching & Support - Assist with clinical year instruction, including preceptor engagement, site evaluation, and monitoring student progress. - Facilitate student clinical placements in collaboration with the Clinical Education Director. Academic Advising & Student Support - Serve as an assigned faculty advisor to a cohort of PA students. - Provide academic and professional development guidance. - Assist with remediation activities when students demonstrate deficiencies. Program & Institutional Service - Serve on the Admissions Committee and participate in recruitment, interview, and selection of applicants. - Engage in ongoing program assessment and quality improvement initiatives. - Oversee student scholarship programme in collaboration with RCSI Development office. - Serve as programme representative to Interprofessional Learning Initiatives. - Serve on additional departmental, college, or university committees as assigned. Person Specification Essential: PhD in relevant subject area. Master's degree (required) and current national certification as physician associate. Strong teaching interest and skill set, as evidenced by experience of, a proven track record in, and enthusiasm for teaching physician associate graduate students. Internationally competitive research record, as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in journals of high quality/impact and grant support (desired but not required). Enthusiasm for your specialist teaching area and the ability to engage your students to successfully transfer this passion and learning. One of the projects being developed by the ARC Hub for HealthTech will be led by Dr. Grace O'Malley in the RCSI Obesity Research and Care Group to address child and adolescent obesity management. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced developer/engineer/post-doctoral computer scientist to develop relevant technology that leverages data-driven solutions, artificial intelligence, and user-centred design. The candidate should have experience designing, developing, implementing, testing and scaling sustainable and usable digital health technologies. The candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the ARC, including the project principal investigator, the project research team and the wider ARC team. Job Responsibilities Organising the timetabling and scheduling of Medicine teaching in the Intermediate Cycle and Senior Cycles. Liaising with RCSI Medicine Academic Staff, hospital consultants and external lecturers to ensure the educationally valid and student friendly delivery of the Medicine element of the IC and SC schedule - lectures, Team Observed Structured Bedside Assessments (TOSBAs), TOSCE, Case based presentations, Essentials of Clinical Practice, Sub- Intership and bedside tutorials,. Assisting academic staff / lecturers with the formation of teaching presentations. Assisting the Medicine academic staff in the preparation of lectures, Pod casts, handouts and other teaching materials as required. Liaising with other staff to ensure the availability of lecture theatres and tutorial rooms. Organising the attendance of students at TOSBAs, TOSCEs, Case presentations, ECP and other teaching & learning activities.
