This role is Designated Person for Fund Risk (PCF 39), and you will be responsible for ensuring robust oversight of fund risk management and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities As Senior Financial Risk Manager, you will immerse yourself in a variety of responsibilities that span both strategic oversight and hands-on analysis. Develop and execute comprehensive risk monitoring processes for funds, ensuring alignment with current market conditions and regulatory expectations. Interpret quantitative data and qualitative insights to provide meaningful economic and financial analysis that informs strategic decision-making. Participate in group-wide projects, representing the voice of the Financial Risk department on assignments such as new regulations or technology implementations. Provide expert risk advice to management during the creation and launch of new products, supporting innovation while maintaining rigorous standards. Perform model validations, including those utilising advanced techniques such as machine learning or artificial intelligence, to ensure accuracy and reliability. Conduct liquidity stress testing in accordance with ESMA guidelines, proactively identifying potential vulnerabilities within fund portfolios. Utilise financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters Eikon) and application software (such as Matlab, Simcorp Dimension, Python, Fusion Invest) to enhance analytical capabilities. Liaise effectively with business units, senior management, external auditors, and supervisory authorities to ensure transparent communication of risk matters. Draft and maintain Financial Risk Policies and Procedures that underpin sound governance across all activities. Oversee the identification, measurement, management, and monitoring of risks related to UCITS funds under management, acting as primary contact for fund risk with regulatory bodies. Qualifications A degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics or an equivalent field is preferable Proven practical experience within the financial services in risk-related or portfolio management functions. Familiarity with UCITS and AIFMD frameworks. Excellent analytical skills enable you to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels. Programming skills (VBA, Python or Matlab) are advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for automating processes is highly valued within the team.
