  • Electrical Design Engineer

    Description We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer based from our office in Tuam, Co. Galway, who will work as part of a multi discipline team to produce detailed electrical designs for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants in both municipal and industrial settings. The role will require strong technical skills and communication and interaction with managers, engineers, internal and external team members, suppliers and clients. Roles and Responsibilities Investigation & reporting on electrical condition of multiple sites Evaluation of the client specifications Preparation of Electrical Technical Designs & Submissions Working with client to agree scope of works Development of designs and costings Design of electrical distribution systems including Single Line, and load schedules Instrumentation Design including selection, termination details, cabling requirements, etc. Prepare Cable Calculation & Schedules Liaise with other departments i.e. design, contracts, control & automation etc. as required Liaise with the client as required Understanding and ability to update panel schematics and wiring diagrams Preparation of Control Philosophies Working to IS, EN, BS & IEC standards Procurement and acquisition of all items to facilitate project completion. Timeline planning of all installations from awarding of contract to completion and handover of all documentation. Input into method statements, risk assessments and commissioning schedules. Skills / Attributes Knowledge of Water and Wastewater treatment industry preferable Highly proficient in all aspects of Microsoft office. Be able to read and redline Electrical drawings and Schematics. Excellent understanding of current Electrical Regulations and Standards. Be able to read drawings including P&ID's and layout drawings. Excellent inter-personal skills and communication skills. Strong engineering, analytical and problem solving skills. Strong collaborative skills with an ability to work effectively in a team environment. Working knowledge of CAD an advantage but not essential Ability to present information in a timely and organized fashion for the Commercial and Project Directors. Project Engineering / Site management / M&E Installation, Personnel management and any Water &/or Waste Water industry experience will be an advantage. Education Requirements Third level Electrical Engineering degree or diploma or Trade Qualified with relevant experience Similar relevant third level qualification and experience will be considered.
