  • Actuarial Life Manager/Assistant Manager

The team delivers specialist advisory, modelling, and analytical services primarily to (re)insurance clients, as well as to the banking, leisure, and public sectors. Key Responsibilities Deliver and oversee life actuarial projects, including pricing, reserving, product development, financial and regulatory reporting under Solvency II, IFRS 17, and US GAAP/LDTI. Manage regulatory, risk management, and actuarial review assignments, providing clear insight and robust technical assurance. Collaborate on cross-disciplinary projects such as ESG, M&A due diligence, audit support, and enterprise risk management. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clear communication, understanding of business needs, and exceptional service delivery. Contribute to practice growth and development, including mentoring, recruitment, and supporting business development and research initiatives. What You’ll Bring Qualified Actuary with substantial experience in the life (re)insurance sector. Strong knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting, particularly Solvency II and IFRS 17. Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex projects. Excellent communication and relationship management skills. Knowledge of SAS, SQL, or Python desirable but not essential; interest in ESG or ERM a plus.   • Reserving Actuary

    Our client, a leading international commercial lines and reinsurance insurer, is seeking to appoint a Reserving Second Opinion Actuary to join its Risk Management function. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced P&C actuary to step into a highly visible role providing independent oversight and challenge across complex global insurance and reinsurance portfolios. Key Responsibilities Perform independent reserving and technical valuation analyses across assigned lines of business, including selection and challenge of assumptions and methodologies. Provide an independent second-opinion on technical reserves and profitability to senior management, including half-year and full-year reserve assessments. Identify areas of uncertainty within reserve estimates and assess their potential financial and risk impacts. Act as a subject matter expert on reserving matters, supporting profitability reviews, deep-dive analyses, and business planning activity. Present and clearly explain reserving conclusions to actuarial, underwriting, and risk stakeholders. Support regulatory and internal initiatives (including IFRS 17) and ensure reserving processes meet governance and policy standards. Required Experience & Qualifications Qualified actuary with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience or equivalent. Strong P&C actuarial reserving experience, particularly within commercial and corporate long-tail business. Solid technical modelling capability, with advanced Excel skills and experience using SQL, VBA, and ideally Python. Proven ability to review, challenge, and validate actuarial assumptions and methodologies. Experience working across insurance and reinsurance portfolios; reinsurance exposure is a strong advantage.
