This role offers the opportunity to make a strong impact in a team with ambitious growth and goals, a start-up attitude, and a strong desire to promote Puratos’ innovative solutions in Health & Wellbeing and Sustainability. The Application Specialist is responsible for: Supporting large/medium industrial bakeries/patisseries with high-end technical advice throughout the island of Ireland. Seek solutions to customers’ needs and help them in the implementation of products and concepts. Creating strong and long-term partnerships with the assigned accounts. The successful candidate will have excellent baking and interpersonal skills, as well as an intimate knowledge of the industrial bakery level. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES You will be involved in: Working with customers to understand their needs and co-create tailored solutions. Leading projects to deploy existing and new products at our customers’ production facilities. Translate the Puratos group guidelines for NPDs towards the Irish market and support the introduction of new products through test baking, samples & trainings. Identifying and managing new business opportunities and risks to existing portfolios, to support the business development team in reaching their sales targets. Operating in a cross-functional team with our local Technical, Marketing and Sales colleagues, or alongside the international and diverse global network of Puratos. Use the collaborative working tools (CRM) and data analytics (PowerBI). Maintain baking & ingredients knowledge of current and up-and-coming trends, as well as a thorough understanding of all Puratos products. Build strong and long-term relationships at customers, as well as develop and maintain a network of ingredient and equipment experts in Puratos and externally. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Holder of a degree relevant to bakery, confectionery, or a related field. A minimum of 4 years working within an industrial bakery environment. Thorough understanding of the patisserie automation process, analytical techniques and NPD processes, and the use of ingredients to create and improve healthy and delicious products. A talent for product development and troubleshooting. You are fluent in English (verbal and written) and show excellent communication and presentation skills. You show strong project management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects at once and work under pressure and to deadlines. You are curious and determined to continuously improve everything we do, daring to challenge boundaries to deliver superior value in products & services. Have a drivers’ license and are open to travel locally (and occasionally internationally for trainings and customer support). Around 60% of working time will be spent at customer sites. Be open to flexible working hours. You are data driven, and computer literate (Microsoft Office Suite and SAP tools). You are a dynamic, proactive, and creative team player. You respect others. Developing, leading and executing the BU strategies in line with the local and group vision. Creating strong and long‑term partnerships with assigned accounts. Strategically targeting prospects. Develop, formulate and implement a business development plan for targeted artisan accounts, prospects and distributors. Work with cross‑functional teams to defend core existing business, increase account penetration and win new, profitable business in prospect and existing accounts. Create & maintain long‑term customer partnerships including senior‑level relationships at key accounts. Understand the customers’ manufacturing operation systems, processes and policies and define very well their needs. Putting the customer at the center of all activities and ensuring proactive and fast reactive support on all types of problem solving at customers, together with the other members of the business development team. Plan regular customer visits to develop the business. Organise regular multi‑disciplinary status meetings (internally and with customer) to review the business.
