  • Senior Bridge Engineer

    PUNCH Consulting Engineers have a vacancy for a Senior Bridge Engineer to work flexibly from any of our Irish offices ( Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway ) on a range of Bridges and Civil Structures projects. At PUNCH, we enable our engineers to achieve their maximum potential through professional skills development, direct mentoring, and a pipeline of interesting and challenging projects across all major industry divisions. Our Bridges and Civil Structures team are currently delivering a variety of projects across all stages from Concept Design to Construction. Project variety includes multi-span road bridges, active travel pedestrian & cycle bridges, as well as conservation of historic bridge structures. Joining our team will afford you the opportunity to take direct responsibility for Bridges & Civil Structures projects of an appropriate scale. Further details of the roles and responsibilities are outlined below. Job Description: As a Senior Bridge Engineer , you will be working on the delivery of major Bridges & Civil Structures projects. You will be responsible for the technical, managerial, and commercial aspects of your project. Your work will be carried out in accordance with the company ISO procedures. Candidate Specification: Minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience in engineering consultancy. Chartered Status with Engineers Ireland or close to applying for chartership. A sound understanding of engineering principles and a strong technical focus, ability to apply engineering principles and codes of practice to solve technical problems. Excellent conceptual design abilities to provide robust and economical solutions in concrete, steel, timber, masonry, etc. Significant base of IT skills including: Structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, SCIA, TEDDS suite, CADS suite, STRAP, etc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project. The ability to source and use new design software to benefit project work. Independent judgement in the application of engineering science and knowledge including complex design, construction, and management. Leadership skills to plan, manage, and direct human, material, and financial resources required to solve complex problems in multi-disciplinary teams. High level of commercial understanding and application. Understanding of the Irish regulatory and policy issues. Implement full Project Delivery Process including GCC Contracts. A successful track record working closely in partnership with clients and contractors and other members of design teams. Strong communication skills both oral and written.   • Senior Civil Engineer  

    - Cork

    PUNCH Consulting Engineers have a vacancy for a Senior Civil Engineer to work in our Cork office, which is located in Elm Court, Boreenmanna Road. Job Description: As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be working closely with senior managers on the delivery of major projects. You will be responsible for the technical, managerial and commercial aspects of your project. Your work will be carried out in accordance with the company ISO procedures. Candidate Specification: Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or ICE. Minimum of 5 years experience in a design office environment. An excellent understanding of the engineering principles behind drainage, water, roads and traffic system design. Familiarity with DMURS. Experience in compiling engineering planning documentation for major projects. Experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments. Experience in the preparation of Traffic & Transportation Assessments and Mobility Management Plans. Road Safety Audit experience beneficial. IT skills – including MS Word, Excel, basic AutoCAD skills + company design software packages including Linsig, Causeway Flow, MicroDrainage, TRICs, Tuflow, HEC-RAS, EPANet. Our team are currently delivering several €200m+ mixed used developments including Crown Square in Galway, Project Opera in Limerick and North Quay in Waterford, in addition to the new Anglesea Stand at the RDS Ballsbridge, a major new private hospital in Limerick and a new Europort facility in Rosslare. Joining our team will afford you the opportunity to be a part of a large team on major projects and take more direct responsibility for some of the medium scale (€5m – €30m) currently ongoing in our office.   • Bid Administrator (Part Time)

    PUNCH Consulting Engineers have an exciting new opportunity for a Bid Administrator within the Administration Department. The Administrator will report directly to the Administration Manager (located in Dublin), Directors and General Company Senior Management as relevant. The role offers flexibility to work from any of our Irish offices (Dublin, Cork, Limerick, or Galway). In summary, the role includes assisting with the following duties: Tender Bid Submissions, Marketing documentation and administration, Social Media input, New Staff Orientation, Quality Systems administration and General Office Administration. A detailed list of duties is included below: Details Production of Tender Submission documents for new project bids in support of the Administration Manager, including liaising directly with the Project Director/Project Manager. General input into the running of the Company Tender Submission process. Preparation and management of Marketing material (brochures, capability statements, etc.) using InDesign software (training included). Input to the Company’s Social Media Function: LinkedIn / Facebook / X. Assist Directors with company Marketing. Assisting the HR Manager when required. Assist with the compilation of monthly data sheets, Holiday charts, Environmental records, and Quality Management Systems administration. General office administration support and other ad hoc office duties as they arise. Experience / Qualifications The candidate will ideally hold a University Degree and have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in an office environment in a similar role. Industry-specific experience is not a requirement. Experience with tender bid submissions preferable. Experience with InDesign software desirable. A high level of IT proficiency to include MS Office (Outlook, Word & Excel). Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential. Excellent team player with the ability to work on own initiative. Enjoys taking ownership and responsibility for work. Highly organised with excellent time management and deadline-oriented. Commercial awareness and appreciation of the importance of quality and accuracy in the tender process. A flexible, positive, and proactive mindset is essential with the ability to engage with numerous stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation.   • Senior Civil Technician

    At PUNCH Consulting we are looking for a Senior Civil Technician with 5-7 years’ experience to work in our dynamic Civil Engineering design team in our Dublin Office. Job Description: The candidate will be proficient in the preparation of civil infrastructure drawings / details for site development, roads infrastructure, transportation infrastructure, public health infrastructure, etc. As part of the Civil Engineering team, you will be required to deliver project drawings to the required technical standards in a timely manner reporting to the project manager. You will also be responsible for overseeing and checking standards on project drawings by Junior Civil Technicians. The ideal candidate will have experience in producing 2D drawings in Autocad and 3D model designs in Autodesk Civil 3D. You will also be required to carry out site inspections and attend Design Team meetings. Desirable Skills and Attributes: A Higher Certificate (NFQ Level 6) in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Knowledge and experience of AutoCad 2D is essential. Knowledge and experience of AutoDesk Civil 3D, Autotrack and Causeway Flow is beneficial. Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and designs is essential. Proven commitment to CPD.
