  • Process Technologist

    My job Pilgrim's Europe is looking for a Process Technologist to join our team in Shillelagh. In this role, you'll be part of our New Product Introduction (NPI) team, delivering exciting New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) projects in line with customer critical paths. You'll take ownership of customer and category development from factory trials through to launch, ensuring technical, quality, and commercial objectives are met through strong cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities: A key player in developing new products from concept to launch, following the Pilgrim's Europe stage-gate process. Collaborate closely with NPD to ensure new products are aligned with customer expectations. Lead & support factory trials to ensure accurate data collection and reporting. Collect the appropriate evidence to make justified decisions. Prepare and issue factory paperwork for product launches. Responsible for ensuring key milestones are met in line with the Critical Path for each project within the Recipe Professor stage-gate system. Manage development recipes through our Recipe Professor system. Coordinate and manage samples for validation, including: Shelf-life and sensory (organoleptic) testing Nutritional sample submission Transit trials Cooking validation (internal and external) Product composition analysis Maintain all trial materials to ensure compliance to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Ensure compliance with customer policies and business standards. Source benchmark samples and ingredients as required. Key customer account lead: attending external meetings when required, lead site visits and develop close, long-standing relationships with our customers. A champion of food safety and quality. What you will need: Excellent communication skills with a passion for achieving targets and driving continuous improvement. A proactive, problem-solving mindset and strong organisational skills. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to plan and manage multiple projects and meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Confidence to represent Pilgrim's Europe and build strong relationships at all levels. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Relevant qualifications (e.g., HACCP, Food Safety, Health & Safety). 1-2 years' experience in an FMCG environment (High Care and/or Low Risk experience would be preferrable).     My job Quality Manager (Maternity Cover) Location: Carrickmacross Contract: 15 months FTC To lead out the Quality team to ensure compliance with all internal and external standards. To drive the technical excellence agenda and be responsible for the development of the Quality Management System. To lead customer and standard audits and support the operational teams in issue resolution. Responsibilities: Build a culture of food safety and quality across the site. Reduce hazards, risks, and incidents by driving the Technical Excellence agenda. Embrace "Go for Zero" by promoting positive behaviours, root causing near misses and coaching team to manage safety in their areas. Ensure that all team members have the appropriate training and resource to do their required task in a safe manner. Track, report and improve quality & food safety performance metrics. Improve current BRC/ OPEX MS audit grades, minimum A+ or Green. Prepare team and site for unannounced audits. Ensure all internal and external Technical standards are implemented into site. Provide support and technical knowledge for factory issues to ensure resolution and root cause is identified. Lead the Quality agenda and Food Safety and Quality Culture programme for site. To ensure the timely creation and approval of accurate, right first time product pack copies and artwork in accordance with customer requirements, relevant legislation and group policy. Responsibilities: Approve and maintain finished product specifications for all finished products supplied. Completing specifications in accordance with customer protocols ensuring data provided is accurate, valid, and compliant with customer requirements, relevant legislation and group policy - Calculating and generating ingredient declarations in required customer format - Estimating meat content by both theoretical methods (QUID) and using laboratory analyses. Ensure that all data and/or claims that are linked with product specifications can be supported and are validated against customer requirements, legislation, group policy or third-party protocols (e.g. RSPO logo approval, Vegan Society etc.). Receive, evaluate and action as appropriate requests to amend/update specifications ensuring effective communication with all relevant stakeholders. Legal pack copy generation of technical information required for product packaging (Primary and Secondary) ensuring compliance with customer requirements and relevant legislation. To upload approved cutter profiles onto customer portals. Artwork Approval (covering primary and secondary packaging) Working with all relevant stakeholders (e.g. design houses, customers, internal and external commercial teams, printers etc.) to ensure packaging artwork designs are compliant with legal / customer technical requirements. To ensure that Recipe Professor is updated with analytical nutrition data that matches artwork. To ensure all relevant supporting documentation has been completed to the required standard and is linked to the appropriate specification. This may include, but is not limited to cooking or reheat validations, nutrition results, QAS/QCCP documents, salt exceptions and certificates. To keep up to date with customer and legal requirements and ensure all customer portals are maintained. To consider and respond to customer queries regarding specifications as and when they arise Present product specifications to customers as required during visits/audits and implement corrective actions where required. Provide guidance and support to other departments as required to support understanding and awareness of specific customer requirements. Work closely with other functions, particularly product development and raw materials supply chain teams, to ensure collaboration on timescales.
