The AI Risk Manager is responsible for the independent oversight and validation of both traditional models and AI systems, including machine learning, general purpose AI, and third-party AI solutions. The role defines the scope, approach, and depth of validation activities in line with internal policies, regulatory requirements and best practices, ensuring that models and AI systems are appropriately assessed for fitness for purpose. The AI Risk Manager provides direction and oversight to validation activities performed by team members, while remaining hands-on for complex or high-risk use cases where additional judgement is required. The role is responsible for validation conclusions and reporting, and engages with stakeholders and vendors to challenge assumptions, assess risks, and ensure appropriate governance and monitoring in place.
