Base pay range

Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Group SHEQ Manager, and a key member of the SHEQ Senior Management Team, the Regional SHEQ Manager is primarily responsible for leading and driving a culture of uncompromised health and safety for employees, contractors, customers, and partners. The role involves hands‑on and strategic activities, developing, building and executing proactive hazard risk management systems to achieve zero injuries and autonomous safety.
Key responsibilities
Deliver strategic plans for SHEQ and related activities that develop the service to meet current and future needs of the business and ensure the organisation achieves excellent levels of health, safety and environmental performance.
Ensure that short‑ and longer‑term plans and approaches are developed, agreed and implemented to meet contract requirements, relevant legislation and all business strategies and objectives.
Lead, support and coach the SHEQ team to support the business units and work closely in partnership with operational Directors and Managers.
Manage the SHEQ team; ensure all team members are supported, advised, trained, motivated and fully able to deliver the requirements of their roles.
Ensure SHEQ procedures and systems are implemented across the business and are fully understood to comply with all relevant legislation.
Implement safety policies and programs, including training programmes, processes and procedures.
Research market developments, identify approaches that add value to the business and propose relevant developments and initiatives to the Management Team.
Implement a programme of audits and reviews to ensure service level achievement and commitment delivery.
Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non‑conformities are correctly reported and investigated in accordance with company procedure.
Effectively maintain accident report files, incident files, accident investigations and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Ensure all SHEQ lessons learned and other high‑value learning events are communicated across the business.
Ensure all sites embed monthly SHEQ meetings to support and close out actions in line with defined timescales.
Produce monthly reports from the health & safety department regarding company performance.
Promote our vision and values to internal and external stakeholders for SHEQ.
Develop relationships with direct line operational leaders and contribute to functional developments to ensure full group compliance.
Monitor external developments, participate in industry forums, assess best practice and propose relevant internal improvements.
Responsible for developing and promoting innovation within SHEQ and sharing these internally.
Lead investigations and formulate investigation teams to track closure.
Manage a team of SHEQ Officers through performance monitoring and data tracking with weekly meetings.
Lead Core and Comprehensive audits.
Present monthly key performance data to the Group SHEQ Manager.
Training / Qualifications
5+ years’ experience in a similar role, leading a health & safety culture transformation across multiple locations.
Qualified to NEBOSH Diploma level (or equivalent) in Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management, with evidence of CPD achievement.
Understanding of ISO Standards with auditing experience.
Experience managing a geographically spread team, ensuring cohesive policy implementation and proactive business support.
Experience developing and implementing meaningful SHEQ KPIs, targeting key improvement areas and celebrating success.
First‑hand experience dealing with regulatory bodies, stakeholders and external clients.
Financial literacy.
Highly capable communicator able to deliver messages across all levels and achieve buy‑in.
Excellent communication and decision‑making skills.
Self‑motivated, confident and with strong presenting skills.
Full driving licence.
