THE WORK As a Senior Software Engineer, Site Reliability - Enablement at Ripple Treasury, you will join an established FinTech leader dedicated to creating next-generation technology for global corporate financial offices. You will serve as a coach, mentor, and technical consultant within an enabling team, embedding directly with stream-aligned product teams for time-boxed engagements of 6–12 weeks. Your mission is to empower these teams across three critical domains—observability, releasability, and security—helping them achieve operational excellence through automation, standard processes, and continuous improvement. What you'll do Team Enablement: Embed with engineering teams to build self-sufficiency in instrumenting code with logs, metrics, and traces, while defining critical SLOs/SLIs and error budgets. Pipeline Optimization: Guide teams in designing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and Octopus Deploy, emphasizing trunk-based development and progressive delivery strategies like canary and blue/green deployments. DevSecOps Integration: Teach teams to integrate security scanning (SAST, DAST, SCA) into their pipelines, perform threat modeling, and implement secure secrets management. Automation & Standardisation: Develop reusable templates, documentation, and "golden path" examples for pipelines and dashboards to ensure teams can adopt these controls independently. Performance Tracking: Measure and track team progress using DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR) to demonstrate measurable improvements in engineering maturity. Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the Subsystems Platform Team to translate common engineering needs into permanent, self-service platform capabilities. WHAT YOU'LL BRING Core Experience: At least three years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering roles with a strong background in both development and operations. Technical Proficiency: Proven hands-on expertise with Octopus Deploy (required), Terraform (required), and CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Observability & Security Depth: Strong experience with application observability tools (New Relic, Datadog), OpenTelemetry, and application security practices including OWASP Top 10. Mentorship Attitude: A consultative approach with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to coach and influence engineering teams without direct authority. Reliability Principles: Deep understanding of reliability engineering concepts, including branching strategies, automated testing, and vulnerability remediation workflows. Domain Familiarity: Desired knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), GitOps practices, and FinTech compliance requirements like SOC 2 or PCI DSS.
