We're a hardworking team that moves fast and ships with purpose. We're straight‑talking, no‑nonsense, and deeply invested in the quality of what we build. You've spent time with the teams who use what we build, you understand where the friction is, and you've shipped at least one improvement that made someone's day measurably better. You're contributing to design reviews, finding your footing with engineering and product partners, and already using AI tools to move faster through exploration and iteration. 6 months. You're owning a significant workstream end‑to‑end. Stakeholders are coming to you early, not just for sign‑off. You've run at least one round of research with internal users and used it to shape a real decision. AI is a natural part of your workflow, helping you synthesize faster, prototype more, and spend your energy where it counts. 12 months. You've raised the bar. At least one core platform looks and works meaningfully better because of your involvement, and you can point to the impact. You're helping set the standard for how internal UX gets done at Kraken, including how the team thinks about and uses AI as part of the design process. Skills You Should HODL 5+ years of end‑to‑end product design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong, high‑quality work across complex problem spaces. Strong UX and visual design skills. You can take on ambiguous, challenging problems and deliver solutions that are both thoughtful and user‑centered. Proficient with prototyping tools and techniques, and able to communicate ideas clearly across different audiences. Comfortable owning high‑impact features or projects end‑to‑end, while staying collaborative with peers and cross‑functional partners. Open to feedback, quick to iterate, and genuinely curious about improving your craft. Data‑informed in your approach. You balance user insights, business needs, and technical constraints when making design decisions. Strong communicator and organizer, able to manage competing priorities and keep stakeholders aligned. Solid grounding in human‑centered design principles and research methods, with a track record of applying them to drive better outcomes. Confident presenting and defending design decisions to both design and non‑design audiences. Familiarity with AI‑powered tools like Cursor, Claude, or Codex, and an eagerness to use them to move faster and think bigger.
