The Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for owning each product on the Global Product roadmap from cradle to grave, being developed by the Dublin and US development teams. They will manage the entire product lifecycle from gathering and prioritizing requirements, calculating the ROI, presenting the business case to the Executive Product Meeting, managing the product development with the Architects/project managers to ensure all the requirements are met including cost targets, managing the acceptance testing and product release process, and training of sales and support in new products and technical support systems for products. He/she will also have strong leadership, project management, and people management skills, and a passion for delivering innovative products in the building energy management space. Have a strong focus on reducing costs and delivering the target margin for new Hardware product developments. Own and project manage all new product introductions, including managing the training development and communication of new products and product changes to customers. Coordinate and build strong working relations with internal departments, Sales, Technical Support, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations. Manage the PD Manager(s) and stakeholders to achieve your objectives. Gain a deep understanding of customer experience by running customer focus groups to identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth. Gather and review consulting engineering BMS specifications from Sales to see what features are being specified by competitors and capture these requirements for new products. Responsible for reviewing competitor product data for each product on the roadmap to ensure we know our competitor products' strengths and weaknesses and include strengths in our products to outperform where they are weak. Product Management Process Own each product on the Roadmap from “cradle to grave” requirements to customer release, through the lifecycle and end of life. Work with the Product Manager(s) to act as the point of first reference for all new product-related inquiries and maintain a new product pre-screening process to identify which products need to be considered by the CEO/Executive Team for possible inclusion on the roadmap. Create and present the business case with input from Mentor Customers, Sales and Technical Support, and Architect/Project Managers i.e. business case with Customer Requirements, Engineering Deliverables, and ROI to the Executive Product Meeting for approval to add to the half-yearly PD delivery Roadmap. Take an active project management approach with Sales, Technical Support, and Architect/Project Managers and team members across the organization to ensure the product development moves forward according to the roadmap timescale. Take ownership and accountability to ensure the status and any slippage of any given project is clear and visible to the CEO & CTO, and stepping in if necessary to take action with the relevant manager or to escalate to the CEO as required to keep the project on track. Arrange product progress “Show and Tell” demonstration sessions and signoff at various stages of development. Work with the Product Manager(s) to manage the acceptance testing and New Product Introduction Process for each product on the roadmap. Provide the Technical Support and Sales team with the necessary technical training to enable them to sell the new products. Work with the Product Manager(s) to collate and prioritize the product requirements backlog – maintenance of backlog priorities. Work with the Product Manager(s) to track and report the product development cost vs the approved ROI development cost monthly to the CEO as a KPI on monthly roadmap report.
