    Safety Engineer - LOTO at NovintiX We are seeking a highly motivated LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) Engineer to join our team at a leading medical device manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing LOTO programs to ensure the safety of personnel during servicing and maintenance of machinery. The role requires a strong understanding of machine safety, maintenance procedures, and electrical systems in a regulated manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive LOTO procedures for all applicable equipment and machinery. Conduct LOTO risk assessments and energy control analysis across the facility. Support maintenance and engineering teams by ensuring proper machine isolation techniques are followed. Collaborate with EHS, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure LOTO compliance with OSHA, ISO, and company safety standards. Lead training sessions for employees and contractors on LOTO policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure LOTO equipment (tags, locks, devices) is available, standardized, and properly maintained. Provide technical support during equipment installations, upgrades, or troubleshooting, particularly involving electrical or mechanical energy sources. Work closely with equipment vendors and validation teams to ensure new equipment includes appropriate energy isolation designs. Maintain records of LOTO procedures, audits, incidents, and training as part of ongoing compliance reporting. Drive continuous improvement by evaluating LOTO incidents and near misses and implementing corrective actions. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline) or equivalent technical qualification. 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in medical device or regulated industry. In-depth understanding of LOTO procedures, machine safety standards, and energy isolation techniques. Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and automated machinery. Hands‑on experience with PLC programming (Siemens S7, Allen‑Bradley, Omron, etc.) and HMI development. Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet, Modbus). Strong understanding of machine safety (LOTO, CE, ISO 13849‑1, EN 60204‑1). Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and analytical skills. Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Good communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills (Nice To Have) Experience with robotics, vision systems. Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11 compliance for electronic records. Exposure to MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and Industry 4.0 technologies. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.
