    The Role IT/OT Automation Engineer Onsite role - this role is designated as fully onsite Permanent or Contractor opportunity Role Brief NNIT has a requirement for an experienced IT/OT Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain operational technology systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be a key part of the Manufacturing Engineering team supporting highly automated Manufacturing Platforms with continuous improvement design solutions supporting the growth of base business, reliability-based asset management, new equipment & enabling technologies. Responsibilities PROJECT MANAGEMENT Independently plans and conducts small- to medium-size assigned projects within engineering specialty requiring conventional types of plans, investigations, and/or equipment; cost, scope and schedule Manages multiple, often concurrent, projects and meets deadlines. Establishes workable and trackable schedules. Works with and / or directs staff, outside firms, and/or consultants to agree on plans and timetables for a specific project; identifies pinch points or conflicts, e.g. determines verification and tracking mechanisms; sets performance metrics; assigns responsibilities for team members; develops a budget. TECHNICAL/DESIGN Anticipates future directions, Benchmarks internally and externally. OT infrastructure services (i.e. IP addressing, firewall, authentication services, Virtualization, patch management, etc.). Software services (End user devices, Server/Storage/backup, application installation & configuration, and Databases). Coordinates and acts as SME/SPOC for complex service requests (e.g., GTS systems, MES systems and ICE) PROBLEM SOLVING/INNOVATION Improves methods/designs/processes. Recognizes and implements good ideas/innovations/costs reductions; consistently generates/adopts original solutions to problems and reduces them to practices, e.g. implements better methods to reduce component cost; creatively applies others' design ideas. COMPLIANCE Complies with all regulations and standards for quality, Environmental, Health, Safety and Energy (EHS&E) Identify areas of risk with respect to compliance. Requirements And Competencies Bachelor of Science Degree or Masters Degree required, preferably in, Information Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field / discipline. Minimum 4 years of experience in an IT / OT infrastructure environment in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Medical Devices or Biotech manufacturing. Prior experience in a cGXP environment in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Medical Devices or Biotech manufacturing is essential. Project management, change management and the ability to work effectively and drive alignment in a global environment through strong communication and empowerment is required. Familiar with server base Application Maintenance & Licensing with Siemens automation systems is strongly preferred. PLC & HMI programming and troubleshooting preferably in Siemens systems. Person Brief Candidates must have a minimum of a level 8 B.Sc. Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with emphasis in software development, electrical, electronic or automation discipline. You must also have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Medical Devices or Biotech manufacturing and at least 4 years experience in an IT/OT focused automation engineering role. Strong exposure to Siemens automation systems is preferred. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication & problem solving skills as well as strong stakeholder & vendor management skills. As this role is fully onsite in Athlone, Co. Westmeath and an onsite role the successful candidate must be based in the area or within a reasonable commute.
