Key Responsibilities Apply values‑based practice principles such as respect and dignity in all aspects of care and interactions with colleagues. Implement the framework of the nursing process to conduct person‑centred assessments and develop and implement client/patient care plans in accordance with operational policies for the defined clinical area, under the clinical supervision of the named nurse (or equivalent), senior nursing staff and multidisciplinary team. Actively and meaningfully involve the client, patient and carers in shared responsibility for assessment, prevention and management of risk and positive risk taking, within the scope, range, skills and competencies of the post. Escort and provide intervention to clients and patients as directed by the named nurse (or equivalent), charge nurse, senior charge nurse or practitioner without direct supervision.   • Job Summary We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to work 8 sessions in Fife CAMHS. The post will be covering part of the East Fife area based in the EAST team. The base is located at Playfield House, Stratheden Hospital Cupar, with clinic rooms also in Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy. Currently there is no on-call required of the post holder however in the future on call may become part of the duties of the consultant group. Contributing to emergency response during normal working hours is expected. Department and Team The department (Fife CAMHS) includes a core group of experienced and well qualified clinicians from a number of disciplines, including Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Child Psychotherapy and dietetics. The post holder will join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists. The service has one core trainee from the south east Scotland training scheme and is approved for Higher training from the Scottish National training scheme. Other multi-disciplinary teams provide services for young people and children who self harm, for looked after children and for children and young people who have been sexually abused. As consultant psychiatrist you will be required to provide an input to all teams with a special emphasis on the Intensive Therapy Team. Tier 3 work will include presentations with anxiety and depression, trauma, eating difficulties, and ADHD with co‑morbidity presentations, anxiety, depression and psychosis. The Tier 3 ADHD pathway currently sits within the community paediatric service. It has been established for 10 years and includes nurses (with prescribing role), and psychologists. It offers assessment and treatment for young people with ADHD, including parent education groups and transition clinics for adolescents. The medical input into the pathway is provided by a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist and a speciality doctor. The service values further development of skills, research and sharing information. The service will offer opportunities for the successful post holder to receive support for research and engage in a range of training events. Recent Developments In the past year the redesigned multi‑Agency Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) has been implemented focussing on collaboration of MDT health colleagues and education and tailored support around neurodivergence rather than assessment only. Qualifications Candidates must possess their MRCPsych or equivalent qualification and have obtained, or be within 6 months of obtaining the appropriate CCT from interview. Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a licence to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR – Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non‑UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training to be considered as an eligible specialist in the UK.
