Principal Accountabilities The principal responsibilities will include the following: Investment Strategy: Ongoing refinement and implementation of the Long-Term Investment Strategy for each Fund across public and private assets Public Portfolio Management: On a daily basis, partner with the team to oversee and manage the public investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with the Long-Term Investment Strategy and risk tolerance Holistic Portfolio Management: Responsibility for total portfolio considerations implementing the Long-Term Strategy for each Fund across both publics and privates Market Analysis: Conduct detailed financial market analysis to identify investment opportunities and risks primarily in public asset classes External Manager Research: Conduct detailed research on external managers, primarily public, liquid managers Key contributor when selecting public investment managers and monitoring ongoing performance Management of the overall performance and risk of each of the public mandates, in line with appropriate benchmarks Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including external investment managers, market counterparts, other NTMA departments and governance fora. Working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement Knowledge and Experience The ideal candidate will: Have a third level qualification in Finance, Economics or a related discipline; Advanced degree, Masters and/or CFA designation are helpful Demonstrate a keen and well-informed interest in investments Experience 7+ years' experience in investment management, investment consulting or equivalent environment Experience developing and delivering strategies involving input from, and coordination across, multiple stakeholders Public and private markets investment experience is an advantage Skills Strong communication skills Strong investment acumen and experience Individual needs to be diligent, detail-oriented, self-motivated and a clear thinker Experience with financial modelling A flexible team player capable of managing a number of stakeholders in a professional manner Comfortable with evolving and changing priorities Personal characteristics of integrity, discipline, curiosity and commitment Pension Abatement If an appointee has previously been employed in the Civil or Public Service and that appointee is entitled to or in receipt of a pension from the Civil or Public Service or where a Civil/Public Service pension comes into payment during the appointee's re-employment that pension will be subject to abatement in accordance with Section 52 of the Public Service Pensions (Single Scheme and other Provisions) Act 2012.
