We are expanding our tendering team and seeking a Bid Manager to play a critical role in securing high-value projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on impactful civil engineering projects while playing a key role in our continued growth. About the Role You will work directly with the senior management team and be primarily responsible for managing Tenders. The successful candidate will assemble bid teams with the relevant technical and business knowledge required to prepare winning bids, whilst taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process. What You’ll Be Doing You will take full ownership of the bid process—coordinating teams, shaping winning narratives, and ensuring submissions stand out for all the right reasons. Responsibilities include: Strategic Bid Leadership * Managing the end‑to‑end bid process, ensuring submissions are delivered on time, on message, and to exceptional quality. * Working closely with technical teams to translate complex information into clear, persuasive, client‑focused content. * Developing bid strategies, win themes, and value‑led messaging that strengthens competitive positioning. Content Creation & Quality Control * Preparing, editing, and polishing proposal documents, capability statements, and supporting materials. * Ensuring compliance with tender requirements while maximising the opportunity to differentiate and showcase added value. * Reviewing content produced by contributors to maintain clarity, consistency, and strong narrative flow. Collaboration & Stakeholder Coordination * Liaising with project managers, engineers, directors, and external partners to gather the right information and shape robust, credible proposals. * Coordinating bid reviews, maintaining version control, and briefing internal teams on strategy, risks, and opportunities. Commercial & Process Management * Ensuring bids align with commercial objectives, fee strategies, and risk frameworks. * Managing bid schedules, templates, and internal governance procedures. * Contributing to continuous improvement of bid processes and supporting the development of marketing collateral where required. About You: * Strong organisational ability and comfort working to multiple deadlines. * Experience preparing bids for engineering, construction, or consultancy sectors. * Confidence collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. * Hold a Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying qualification. * Excellent commercial knowledge and understanding. * Experience managing multiple internal and external stakeholders. * Understand the procurement processes. xsokbrc * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff, at all levels, and third parties. * Strong understanding of the client journey

This is a senior-level opportunity for a chartered planning professional to lead complex projects, mentor junior staff, and play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our planning services. As a Lead Planner, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality planning outputs across a diverse portfolio, while supporting the development of our planning team and collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and environmental specialists.
