The role focuses on providing high-quality services to our diverse client base. The duties of the Senior Accountant: Preparation and completion of client files and financial statements (from start to finish) to a high professional standard, within budget and time deadlines, both internal and statutory. Accounts preparation, and income tax returns for individuals, sole traders and directors. Drafting financial reports as required by client assignment. Training junior staff in all technical aspects of accounts preparation and related tax returns, whilst leading them on client assignments. To identify areas of non-compliance with accounting standards, and to bring these to the attention of the engagement manager. Some travel at certain times may be required. The position will attract additional duties depending on the type of client assignment but will always be of a professional accounting nature. Working as part of a team in the provision of statutory accounting services, compliance and related services to a wide portfolio of clients in various sectors. Presentation of results of engagements to the engagement manager. Contributing to the development of your own, and the team’s, technical acumen through continuous coaching, mentoring and leading your team on engagements. Demonstrable Experience and Qualifications Required: You will have at least 1 - 2 years post qualification experience. Experience in preparing Irish income tax and related returns. Open to candidates with practice experience who would like to expand on their skillset and take on a new challenge. Relevant degree and an ACA, ACCA, or other accounting or relevant qualification. Business acumen and insight to be an effective business advisor to your clients. Experience in presenting to senior management teams along with excellent report writing skills.
