This position involves providing direct instruction to adults in a multilevel adult EL program in Big Lake, evenings from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. (time can be adjusted) plus a 1.5-hour prep per class. Up to 40 paid professional development hours are available annually. Responsibilities Providing direct instruction to adult students who are working to improve their English skills. Administering student assessments, returning student phone calls, monitoring student attendance, completing necessary student record‑keeping, and other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Valid MN teaching license for teaching English as a Second Language, or the following: a person who possesses a bachelor's or master's degree in English as a second language, applied linguistics, or bilingual education. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment. Ability to work as a team member. Computer experience and comfort with Internet, email, and Google apps preferred. Must be physically working in the building/on‑site. Certification and Experience Current MN Teaching License required (will help to submit an OFP when hired) Previous experience teaching within an adult basic education program, experience providing online instruction, and working with diverse populations preferred.
