We currently have a vacancy for a Service administratorto join our dedicated and ambitious Athlone team. The Role: The purpose of the role is to provide the link between our highly trained workshop technicians, our service team and our customers during a service visit and act as our retail centre's frontline in delivering customer focused service in a fast-paced environment. They perform the key role of knowledgeable advisor to our customers in respect of the care of their vehicles and in explaining the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with the brands specifications. Duties & Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact with customers either in person or by telephone/email, seeking to convert customer enquiries, when appropriate, to service bookings. Answer service related calls and on occasion, meet and greet service customers promptly in a professional and courteous manner when they visit the service department. Ensure that all customers concerns are correctly captured on the job card. Record customers details accurately, clarify payment options at the time of booking and confirm time for pickup. Promote the sales of appropriate services, parts, and accessories by thoroughly understanding the vehicle and associated service requirements. Identify and communicate with the sales department prospective new/used car sales prospects. Check on progress of services to vehicles throughout the day and contact customer to communicate and receive approval and authorisation regarding any changes in the cost-estimate, promised time of delivery or recommended services. Administer new and used vehicle warranty repairs in accordance with brand warranty guidelines. To deliver customer satisfaction scores in line with brand and Michael Moore Group standards. Requirements Excellent customer service skills, professional appearance and work ethic. Experience in the motor industry would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided. Ability to work well in a process driven environment. Strong oral and written communication skills. Full clean drivers licence. Knowledge of CDK/Kerridge is an advantage, but not essential. The Role The ideal candidates will be based in our Athlone dealership, and be qualified in all aspects of vehicle servicing and diagnostics, and be capable of producing high-quality work in a busy environment for our Mercedes-Benz passenger cars divison. Responsibilities include Performing work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and Mercedes-Benz standards. Communicating with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform workshop manager if a vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary. Assist in diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and perform a repair after confirming authorization by the customer. Saving and tagging any and all parts of the job are under warranty or if requested by the customer. Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Notifying service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised. Road-testing vehicles to spot check work performed. Keeping abreast of Mercedes-Benz technical bulletins and attending factory-sponsored training classes. Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards Requirements Qualified Vehicle technician, currently working in a franchised dealership or independent service centre and looking to progress your career. Ability to clearly complete job card write-ups with a thorough understanding of the requirements of factory standards for warranty write-ups. Good communication skills and the ability to identify and explain additional work required to service advisors or customers as required. Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
