What You'll Do Engaging Assembly Role: Rotate through assembly lines performing a variety of tasks, creating life changing medical products with precision. Quality Champion: Perform on-line and in-process visual inspections to ensure each product meets specifications per work order and procedure, upholding the highest quality standards. SUMMARY OF DUTIES Due to continuous growth, an opportunity now exists for an Extrusion Engineer to join our engineering team in Galway. The successful candidate will manage and run extrusion trials and develop extrusion process for new and existing product /product iterations and new technology to demonstrate capability and key performance metrics. Performs intensive and diversified technical work such as the design, manufacture and operation of structures, machines and systems. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Makes decisions on technical problems and methods which require the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines. Identification, specification, introduction, management and validation of new equipment and technologies in the extrusion area Providing technical input and leadership on problem solving, resolution of technical processing issues and implementation of process improvements in the extrusion department. Product line support for extrusion and the processes after the extrusion line, until the release of the full product and process, includes the documentation of extrusion equipment and processes, validation of extrusion product/technology and process, control of new product/process/technology introductions or changes, and maintaining records. Works on special projects, writes ECN's, and creates prototypes. Performs other related duties and tasks as required. SUMMARY OF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field related to the department of assignment or industry with six years previous related experience, a master's degree with four years previous related experience, or a Ph.D. with two years previous related experience. A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required for this position. Strong extrusion experience with polymer experience desirable (wire, cable, pipe, tube extrusion). Ability to independently apply analytical skills and scientific technical principles in problem solving and development. Demonstrated computer skills, preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database, and other applicable software programs. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member. History of managing reports, proven ability to manage teams in an organisational structure (Technician or Engineer reports) Working knowledge of United States and international standards as applicable to the department. Skills, on 3D drawing on SolidWorks, simulation, flow simulation, ISO and ANSI drawings. Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrically powered mechanisms. SUMMARY OF DUTIES Due to continuous growth, an opportunity now exists for an R&D Scientist to join our R&D team in the Galway site. The successful candidate will provide chemical and materials expertise to support the companies' operations medical device portfolio. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Research new materials technologies to provide possible cost reductions, performance improvements, Capacity increases and/or enable the development of new products. Provides chemical and polymeric materials support to refine existing products or when troubleshooting problems with existing processes. Works with internal/external customers to develop needed materials, as they are needed. Evaluates work results, analyses cause for variances and recommends courses of action. May supervise the work of engineers/technicians or others who assist in specific assignments and work jointly with other engineers and R&D technical team. Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications. Investigates a moderate number of technical variables in completing assignments that have clear and defined objectives. Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Develops test methods to verify hypothesis of chemical and materials technologies. Designs and develops test methods to predict performance of polymeric materials, products and technologies. Works independently on standard projects while assistance is furnished on unusual problems. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions. Performs work of some higher technical level for continuing training purposes. Works on special projects, writes ECN's, and creates prototypes under broad direction Performs other related duties and tasks as required.
