Scope of the Role: We are looking for a Fire Protection Fitter to join our Sustaining department within our Fire Protection division. Operative will drive a Sustaining works Van. This role will be mostly based in the Dublin, Leinster region pending availability of work. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Experience in installation of various Sprinkler systems Planning and executing small to medium sized jobs which involves interfacing with clients. Surveying works and Co-ordinating with design team Flexible to travel around the country. Knowledge in all types of sprinkler systems. Able to work on own initiative Full drivers' licence. (optional). Liaise and build relationships with clients. Competent in draining / refilling sprinkler systems. Competent in operating fire pumps / related fire alarms. Planning and working from sprinkler drawings. Knowledge in LPC and FM sprinkler rules. Essential Criteria for the Role: Safe Pass / manual handling Experienced sprinkler pipefitters Flexible to travel Ability to work on own initiative. Excellent communication skills Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Ensure EHS management systems for all the projects are implemented and maintained Adherence to the project & Mercury Engineering Safety Management system Adherence to relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation Adherence to Mercury Engineering & PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans. Coordination in the development of task specific Method statements, risk assessments, safe plan of action, permit to work. Compliance with the project safety statement. Coordination of project safety indicators. Good Safety Practices are managed & maintained. Ongoing C.O.S.H.H assessments, control of hazardous substances. Safety interventions are completed & registered. Carry out regular site audits and inspection, document reports and establish corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence and continuous improvements Attend and provide input at Site meetings, report on EHS risks, trends and recommend constructive actions towards continuous improvements Good Safety Practices are managed & maintained. Provide advice and guidance in all EHS matters to management, safety representatives and employees Records of statutory inspections are available for project activities, tool and plant. Adopt a Proactive approach to project EHS requirements. Ability to work either independently or as part of a team. Provide Safety input to site management & at site EHS forums. Ensure project sub-contractor adhere to project EHS policies & procedures. Mercury Engineering site induction & training is coordinated, managed & maintained. Project PPE is resourced & available. Compile & carry out Toolbox talks, as necessary Assist or carry out accident investigation reports in a timely manner & ensure communication to Mercury Engineering project management. Welfare & Hygiene facilities are in place, managed & maintained. Liaison with site Project Management on environmental, health & safety issues. Essential Criteria for the Role: Relevant third level Certificate qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety (HETAC Level 7 or Equivalent) 3 years minimum site experience Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation Flexibility in working patterns where necessary. Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Management of all Mercury's commissioning responsibilities on site. This will include the setup, management of and closing out of the Commissioning plan for the project. Management of direct reports (commissioning and testing personnel on site). Management of the Commissioning Tagging process and procedures. Reporting Progress on all Commissioning activities both internally and externally. Chairing weekly commissioning meetings and directing weekly commissioning activities. Chairing daily whiteboard meetings on commissioning. Attending the Main Contractor and clients weekly commissioning meetings and reporting out weekly progress. Development of the Project commissioning schedule in conjunction with the project planners. Management of Mercury's "Lock Out - Tag Out" Processes and procedures Management of Area Control Permits for all areas under Mercury's control (Primarily Electrical Switch rooms) to ensure that all areas are restricted and controlled. Responsible for the Compilation of all Testing and Commissioning Documentation including verifying and signing off on all results. Familiarity with and management of Project Commissioning Schedule in conjunction with other trades, Package Leads, consulting Engineer and Client requirements. Ensuring that all testing and commissioning staff is tracked on the site and labour allocation Tracker sheets are issued daily. Assist with the management of all costs associated with your package including: - Mercury Electrical Team - Mercury Mechanical team - Sub-contractors - Material deliveries and goods receipting - Plant and Equipment - Variations - Valuations Management of all day to day on site commissioning operations Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and staffing levels. Ensure that there is a weekly minuted meeting with sub-contractor. Management of all Mercury commissioning related snagging and ensuring that all snags are closed out in a timely manner (within 1 week of been raised). Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings Close out of all project items - all with the support of the Electrical and Mechanical package managers Implement a weekly look ahead ensuring co-ordination with vendors and trades. Issue internal weekly progress report. This will highlight progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns. It should also highlight any risk elements within the control of Mercury, e.g.: late deliveries. Scope of the Role: The role of the Principal Duty Holder in Mercury is a requirement of the Commission for Regulation of Utilities in Ireland and the principles of the role and the responsibilities have been adopted for all other jurisdictions in which the business operate. You will be responsible for ensuring that competent persons who are engaged in electrical installations and testing are adequately trained and suitably qualified for the work that they will carry out. Furthermore, they are responsible to ensure that all electrical installations are conducted in a safe manner using the safety systems in place. The Principal Duty Holder has responsibility for the maintenance of the overall standard and quality of the electrical work carried out or managed by the enterprise and for ensuring that there are systems in place whereby all electrical work undertaken is carried out by competent persons who are adequately and appropriately supervised. This Group Principal Duty Holder shall be required to work closely with other departments within the group, namely QEHS, Commissioning and all Business Unit Operations to ensure that the policies, procedures and minimum requirements for operating and energising LV and MV systems are understood, the relevant personnel involved understand their role and responsibilities and that they are qualified to undertake the role. Training and auditing of the aforementioned procedures is a key responsibility of the Principal Duty Holder. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Shall act as the "Lead coordinator" of the Mercury Electrical Working Group. This is a group of SMEs within the business that retain a mandate to update, adapt and enhance the existing "Operational and Energisation Procedures for work on LV and MV Systems". This group will support on development and standardization of all procedures pertaining to electrical safety. Responsible for developing standards, processes, procedures, workflows, training material relative to Electrical Safety and ESSOW. Support all Electrical Accident / Incident investigations within the Group. Development of Root Cause Analysis is the output of the process that will inform the business in terms of lessons learned and advise on need for procedural change [where relevant. Work side by side with the QEHS department lead within this process. There is an existing procedure developed that the Principal Duty Holder shall follow. Manage a Group Quarterly COHE audit that will take in all projects by all Business units within the Group. An existing process exists. The Principal Duty Holder shall stay informed on relevant electrical safety standards pertaining to the country and regions that the business operates and ensures that our policies and procedures are kept up to date and communicated to our people to ensure that we always compliant. Review and feedback to all Business Units on the Commissioning KPI Audits submitted per project monthly. The COHE checklist is contained within the Commissioning KPI Audit. Manage the appointment process for all authorised persons within the group. This is an established, digital process. Ensure that persons engaged in electrical installations and testing are competent. Ensure that persons engaged in electrical installations and testing are adequately trained. Ensure that Persons engaged in electrical installations and testing are suitably qualified Ensure that Electrical installations are conducted in a safe manner, using the safe systems of work in place. The Principal Duty Holder is responsible for ensuring that Safe Electric certification / membership is renewed and always in date. Shall work with the Group Finance Controller to ensure that this membership does not lapse. Responsible for ensuring that the "Operational and Energisation Procedures for work on LV and MV Systems" details the statutory and legal requirements for executing the duties of an authorised person in all countries and regions which the business operates. Responsible for Satisfying the conditions as set out by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities [CRU] in Ireland. High level deliverables include but not limited to the following. Link to the relevant criteria below: - Regulatory Compliance -Qualified Certifier Oversight -Safety & Supervision -Certification and Records -Insurance and Documentation -Communication with Safe Electric Responsibility for all matters relating to Registration and be the primary point of contact with the Body [Safe Electric]. Understand, and responsibility for, the safety conditions relating to the range of electrical work undertaken by the business. Responsible for the maintenance of the overall standard and quality of the electrical work carried out or managed by the group and for ensuring that there are systems in place whereby all electrical work undertaken is carried out by competent persons who are adequately and appropriately supervised. Ensure any person acting as a Qualified Certifier meets the conditions outlined in Clause 1.2.7 of the standard. Responsible for ensuring that the necessary records of all Qualified Certifiers are maintained and are kept up to date. Such records must be able to demonstrate the competency, qualifications and training of each Qualified Certifier. Responsible for ensuring that any material changes to the details of its Named Qualified Certifier(s) are communicated immediately to the Safe Electric. Responsible for ensuring that only persons who comply with the conditions laid down in the Safe Electric Criteria Document for a Qualified Certifier issue Certificates on behalf of the REC. Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate Certificates and other documentation are issued and recorded for all completed electrical work in accordance with the requirements of this Criteria Document. Responsible for safeguarding any unused Certificates which have been issued to the REC in order to prevent loss, theft and/or unauthorised use. Ensure that the REC holds the appropriate level of insurance cover as specified by this Criteria Document/the Body [Safe Electric]. Ensure that all records required to be held by the REC as part of the Rules of Registration are maintained and kept up to date; and Complying with the requirements of the Body concerning Audit and Inspection. Our apprenticeship opportunity offers a structured pathway through its seven phases and inhouse development programs, leading to potential management & professional roles upon completion, across various sectors of the business. Scope of the Role: The Project Controls Analyst will work as part of an experienced Project Controls team at Group Level across all projects and will also work closely with the Business Units Senior Management & Commercial Teams. The Project Controls Department is integral in overseeing the project's cost management strategy, aligning with the organisation's financial requirements, and ultimately contributing to the overall business success. You will be responsible for collating and analysing all commercial data associated with projects and identifying any risks or opportunities. The role is 4 days a week in our head office, with occasional visits to our sites across Europe. Scope of the Role: The Electrical Senior Authorised Person is the lead electrical position within the project. They are accountable for managing and implementation of Mercury's electrical safety rules across a portfolio of data centres ensuring that a safe system of work is always adhered to. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Safety Senior Authorised Person will be responsible for any live or potentially live systems under their control. Manage, audit and enforce the principles and application of control of hazardous energies procedures including operational control of lock out tag out system. Identify electrical hazards and implement mitigation deemed necessary. Be conversant with arc flash risk, hazard identification and mitigation measures, including electrical safety PPE. Monitor the condition of PPE and safety equipment, advice project Senior Authorised Person of calibration requirements or replacement safety equipment as required. Manage, audit, employ and enforce adherence to an Electrical Safety Permit System including access control. Manage, monitor and operate access control system in conjunction with approving, cancelling and closing Electrical Safety Permit System. Implement Mercury SOP's, jurisdictional requirements, client requirements, project specific ESSOW's and ensure they are employed on the project through managing, auditing and permitting. Complete any training required for compliance in jurisdiction and with Mercury ESSOW. Ensure team members are competent prior to appointment, including training requirements for their roles. This must be recorded and monitored to ensure continued development and compliance. Plan and execute safe electrical energisations, isolations and switching including approval of requests, drafting and approval of switching plans. The Senior Authorised Person will ensure that approved switching plans and system boundaries are in place as required for HV/ MV and LV systems. Escalate any safety breaches or non-compliance issues to the Person in Charge of the Electrical Installation and Senior Engineer prior to hazard causing risk. The Senior Authorised Person will ensure periodic inspection and auditing is completed as required by Mercury's SOP, client requirements and jurisdictional requirements. Review and approve electrical safety related risk assessments and method statements. Provide evidence of successful completion of colour blindness test if not done so during proof of qualification. Assist in electrical incident investigations should an incident occur ensuring that all Accidents, Incidents or Dangerous Occurrence associated with work on Electrical Distribution Systems, are immediately notified to the Mercury Designated Person. The Senior Authorised person must be fulltime onsite and nominate a deputy of equal competencies to act on limited occasions in their absence. The Senior Authorised Person will ensure any project mitigation against electric shock and arc flash are adhered to including the provision, sign out and monitoring of arc flash PPE to effected personnel according to the project arc flash study or the assessment made by the Senior Engineer assisted by the Senior Authorised Person. Technical Be a qualified electrician awarded the National Craft Certificate as part of the national Framework of Qualifications or equivalent in the jurisdiction and verified by Naric. OR Have successfully obtained a suitable electrical award, equivalent to Level 6 or higher on the National Framework of Qualifications. Complete jurisdictional training such as a recognised course in Verification, Testing and Certification and a recognised switching course at HV/MV and LV in previous two years. Senior Authorised Person must be conversant with jurisdictional regulations and ensure compliance. Be competent to perform pre and post connection electrical testing, perform live dead live testing and assess results for compliance and safety. Be competent to perform electrical trouble shooting should an issue arise. Monitor relevant subcontractors/ vendors ensuring works are being completed within legislation and Mercury SOP's including testing procedures and results. Be conversant and familiar with equipment or complete familiarisation training including but not limited to main panels, ACB's, MCCB's, MCB's, RCBO's, VSD's, MCC's, busbar, sub distribution boards and final circuits. Ensure necessary parties are also competent. Understand, interpret and work from various forms of project information such as SLD's, wiring diagrams, schematics, punch list procedures, vendor manuals, etc. and "redline" as necessary and ensure that effected parties such as the Authorised Person team are familiar and compliant. Understand, interpret and work from various forms of project documentation such as Punchlist Procedure, As Built Procedure, Vendor Manuals etc. ensuring familiarisation is also carried out with effected parties such as the Authorised Person team. Review and manage of commissioning process' from Level 2B to Level 5 including tagging process' prior to energisation and activities to achieve successful IST. Authorise Energisation and Isolation re quests ensuring that the system is utilised on the project. Manage the Emergency removal of a safety lock should the condition arise. Communication/Reporting Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with project team, peer workers and vendors. Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with permit applicants providing clarity and direction as required on the system including familiarisation training. Senior Authorised Person will manage the electrical safety communication process' on the project through warning signage, energisation notices, toolbox talks, system updates and permitting. Any concerns or incidents to be escalated to Person in Charge of the Electrical Installation, Nominated Senior Engineer and EHS Dept. Share system status updates with project team and project Cx. Manager in a timely and concise fashion. Attend project meetings sharing updates and limitations for future planned works. These may include but are not limited to site meetings, internal project meetings, engineering reviews, applicable planning and scheduling meetings and hand over meetings. The Senior Authorised persons must present toolbox talks to the project teams at regular intervals throughout the project and share information with project EHS team to be included in tool box talks/ project safety communications. Any specific jurisdictional qualifications Essential Criteria for the Role: Demonstrated history of delivering HV/MV Infrastructure projects, DC / DNO / IDNO / Power Generation if nomination is at HV or MV levels. Experience managing work and safety precautions across control boundaries. Experience performing / supervising advance cable works including phasing, testing, identifying. Experience in testing and verification of HV/ MV and LV systems. A trade background and 10 - 15 years previous experience managing large installation projects and sub-contractors. Completed high voltage authorised person training course in last 2 years Completed low voltage authorised person training course in last 2 years Proven record of supervising and managing large installation projects In depth knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality compliance Experienced in design and build Excellent technical knowledge of Electrical systems Knowledge of Mechanical systems Excellent IT skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work well within strict deadlines Ability to drive a large-scale project Qualified electrician awarded the National Craft Certificate as part of the National Framework of Qualifications or equivalent for the region.
