Working cross‑functionally to understand the learning and development needs of various functions and departments, the L&OD Specialist will contribute to a team of experts to design, operationalize, and scale learning programs that align with our ongoing commitment to the growth of our people and continuous learning and improvement. The L&OD Specialist most critical work will be focused on building our talent through in‑person and virtual training experiences for European employees supporting instructional design, and coaching staff to greater effectiveness. The L&OD Specialist is a key partner for Meissner’s business leaders particularly when working through change management and managing enterprise‑wide offerings for all employees at Meissner. This role will report directly to the Associate Director of HR at our Castlebar facility and indirectly to the L&D Manager in Camarillo, California. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Understand the learning needs of our various departments in Europe and develop custom training and development strategies for those teams. Leverage internal and/or external resources to create professional and compelling learning experiences. Deliver training sessions for European employees through in‑person and virtual training experiences. Lead the creation of online courses and learning modules within the LMS, ensuring content is accessible and engaging and maintenance of the LMS is current. Measure results of in‑house training programs using Kirkpatrick’s model of evaluation or other relevant model. Contribute to Technical Training & Documentation across the organization. Operationalize and scale L&D programs for the Meissner team members. Determine and facilitate the best learning methods for various learning needs and cultural differences, including in‑person/virtual instructor‑led training (ILTs), or digital learning tools. Lead need assessments to diagnose Meissner’s talent and technical needs by using professional consulting skills, such as utilizing surveys, focus group interviews, direct job observation, and review of existing organizational data. Research, recommend, develop, and implement quality and productivity improvement programs to address employee morale, teamwork, and organizational effectiveness. Share process with team members to aid in the development of the team and department overall. Contribute to the overall Compliance and Training Documentation across the organization. Deliver a multi‑level leadership development training program to support all experience levels within the Meissner European leadership teams. Monitor and measure the success and effectiveness of L&D European plans and initiatives while helping employees to extract maximum benefit from learning opportunities Disseminate experiential knowledge by assisting departments in standardizing and documenting processes and procedures. Develop and maintain learning materials that aide in disseminating tribal knowledge across the organization. Coach and support hi‑potential employees, supervisors and managers in one‑on‑one and classroom settings in team leadership, employee learning and development, performance management (e.g. annual performance reviews and Performance improvement Plans), and career pathing. Contribute to major company changes and implementing initiatives by providing expert insights into the learning and adoption needs of employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, training, coaching and evaluation of production operatives and team leaders to achieve work objectives and improve performance and skills. Completing the production plan by scheduling work orders, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, escalating and resolving any issues that arise. Develop the production team to support future business growth, including training needs analysis, succession planning and maintenance of accurate training records to ensure workforce flexibility.
