  • Overview Full time and permanent role. We are currently recruiting for a CSSD/Sterile Services technician for a full-time and permanent opportunity. Full training will be provided for the chosen candidate. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Receive contaminated devices, instruments and equipment in the decontamination area, ensuring to always don personal protective equipment Use chemical disinfectants and sterilants according to safety procedures Operate as per Mater Private Cork Hospital policies, procedures and guidelines, in particular health and safety, infection control, hand hygiene and moving and handling Operate the decontamination and terminal sterilization equipment, including disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, etc. and to report all malfunctions or changes in the parameters Sort, inspect, assemble, and wrap or package all decontaminated items Assure proper sterility of all processed items by adhering to established sterilization procedures, including loading, unloading, storage, handling techniques and sterility assurance monitors Maintenance and storage of all traceability documentation and to apply tracking labels, if necessary Issue decontamination certificates for sterile items leaving the hospital Maintain control of traffic in all restricted areas of the department including the proper use of surgical scrub attire To undertake any other duties as delegated by the Theatre Services Manager or your line manager. Candidate Requirements Leaving Certificate or equivalent desirable Previous experience in a Sterile Services role desirable, but not essential.
