  • Quality & Safety Manager Full Time Position We are currently recruiting for a Quality & Safety Manager to join our team at Mater Private Cork. This role will provide leadership in the development and maintenance of Quality Initiatives and Risk Management Systems throughout the Hospital, ensuring that the Hospital develops and implements effective systems of care and services in a continuous manner in line with Hospital strategy. Opened in 2012, Mater Private Cork is an acute hospital located close to Cork city centre in Citygate, Mahon. More than 100 consultants provide a wide range of services in the 75-bed facility. The hospital specializes in caring for patients with Cardiac, Vascular, Eye, Orthopaedic and Spinal conditions. Mater Private Cork also provides both Emergency Department and Urgent Cardiac Care services. Reporting to the CEO of the Hospital, the successful candidate will foster a culture of Quality & Safety Management in a collaborative manner with all disciplines throughout the hospital. Candidate Requirements 1.Relevant 3rd level or Health Care Professional Qualification 2.Have 5 years post qualification experience with at least 3 years in a senior management role 3.Detailed knowledge of the Hospitals operation,structure and process in the context of the quality role 4.Have experience of JCI accreditation, highly desirable 5.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 6.Proven leadership skills and an ability to motivate 7.Strong problem solving skills 8.Strong communication skills Principal Duties and Responsibilities include: Quality Management To lead and manage the Hospitals quality and patient safety agenda. To participate in strategic planning as part of the Hospital Management Team To develop plans for the achievement and maintenance ofsafe and effective systems of care. Ensure implementation of appropriate care and environmental standards as required by external regulatory and accreditation bodies. Ensure hospital and individual departments implement plans to achieve and maintain accreditation standards. Establish outcomes of care measures, in conjunction with Hospital departments. Determine reporting requirements for indicators including to Hospital Management Team, Board of Management and Medical Advisory Board.. Ensure corrective action if quality indicators demonstrate an issue or area of poor performance. Risk Management Manage Incident reporting system. Ensure appropriate flow of incident forms. Co-ordinate analysis and response actions by appropriate structures. Provide ongoing education on topics of risk. Conduct Proactive RiskAssessments. Purpose of the Post Perform routine work to the highest professional standards in the histopathology laboratory, as determined by the Group Laboratory Manager, Senior Laboratory Staff and Consultants, limited to: Specimen transfer Embedding tissue Microtomy Special stains Case layout Sample Referral Equipment Maintenance Block & Slide Filing as applicable Professional qualifications, registration, essential skills & knowledge.
