Location:Sandyford Reports to:Operations Manager Role: The Production Engineer, as part of the Operations team supports the smooth execution of manufacturing processes by combining strong technical capability with a continuous improvement mindset. This role plays a key part in enhancing production efficiency, maintaining system and machine reliability, supporting ERP and documentation accuracy, and contributing to new product introduction (NPI). It is ideal for a highly driven, detail-focused individual with strong ownership and cross-functional communication skills. Responsibilities: The role involves all aspects of bringing Product Designs to Life, from conception to production delivery: Evaluate and release to production the design, specification, and documentation for Punching, Folding, Welding, Harnessing, Assembly, Quality Check, and Finishing processes. Create, maintain, and optimise Bill of Operations (BOO) and Bill of Materials (BOM) for all manufactured products. Program 3D model units using TruTops Boost (TRUMPF) for punching and folding operations; utilise SpaceClaim as required. Implement and maintain engineering change orders (COs), ensuring changes are processed, documented, and released to production. Support R&D prototype builds by preparing punching and folding programs, and setting up production jobs. Ensure production has access to all necessary drawings, checklists, and instructions to meet quality and compliance requirements, including documentation for rating plates (WEEE, CE, CB, UL, NSF). Work to NPI (New Product Introduction) and Change Order timelines, communicating task progress clearly and proactively. Assist with preventive maintenance planning and coordination for production machinery and the facility. Help analyse KPI data related to production efficiency, waste, and throughput. Support the development and maintenance of work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Contribute to health and safety improvements in production areas. Collaborate with Marcos China Assembly Plant for technical alignment and production support tasks. Represent the production engineering function in cross-departmental meetings, including those related to quality and NPI. The role is full-time, based in Sandyford. Some travel will be required occasionally. Skills & Experience: Formal qualification (degree, technical diploma, trade cert, or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. 2+ years experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role. Familiarity with CAD tools (Solidworks) and TruTops Boost programming. Experience working with ERP systems (Epicor preferred). Exposure to lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, and process improvement. Practical knowledge of machinery maintenance coordination and production tooling. Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to follow through on tasks. Clear communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams. Hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
