Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Full driving License Experience in a healthcare environment is an advantage Experience in the maintenance and repair of general buildings and grounds to include Carpentry Painting Plumbing Electrical troubleshooting Gardening etc. Experience in the construction industry an advantage Responsibilities Working with the maintenance team in Lisheen Nursing Home, in the execution of physical building infrastructural related proactive, reactive, and planned preventative maintenance activities. He/she will provide efficient and effective maintenance of the premises, systems, and services, to ensure safe residential and staff working conditions. Meet regularly with the maintenance team, or other designated managers, to plan daily / weekly objectives and planned preventative maintenance program, gardening maintenance schedules etc. As the Nursing Home is a 24 hour service, may need to participate in any afterhours buildings related work, as deemed necessary by the maintenance team/management and/or responding to emergencies on site. Participate in the maintenance, upkeep, and repair of all buildings, machinery, and equipment. Participate in the maintenance of all gardens, patio areas, maintenance yard, refuse collection area and upkeep of the boundary walls, fences, paths, and grounds Manage an inventory record of parts and supplies, tools and equipment. Report any accidents / incidents in Lisheen Nursing Home, ensuring a satisfactory conclusion and remedial action to confirm a safe environment for residents and employees. Participate in mandatory training to include; Manual Handling, Infection Prevention and Control, Fire Safety, Safeguarding of Vulnerable and any other training as deemed appropriate. Operate within and promote all relevant Health and Safety Legislation and Guidance.
