Role Details The Mortgage Advisor will support members through the mortgage application process, providing expert advice and making recommendations within Credit Union lending policies and regulatory requirements. This role combines advisory services with credit risk assessment to ensure members receive a personal, professional experience during this important financial decision. As part of this role, the successful applicant will be required to underwrite unsecured personal loans. Main Duties Conduct face-to-face and virtual meetings with members to discuss mortgage options, affordability, and application requirements. Provide tailored advice on mortgage products, terms, and repayment options, ensuring members fully understand their choices. Assess mortgage applications, including analysis of income, financial accounts, and supporting documentation and make recommendations. Operate within Credit Union lending policies, Central Bank regulations, and risk parameters. Ensure all applications are processed and decisions communicated within agreed SLAs. Underwrite unsecured personal loans. Maintain accurate records and compliance with internal policies and legislative requirements. Contribute to training and knowledge sharing within the lending team. Identify opportunities to promote mortgage products and enhance member engagement. The Successful Candidate Will Have Strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending criteria, and regulatory requirements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on building trust and delivering a personal touch. Experience in underwriting unsecured loans. Analytical and sound decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organisational and time management skills. Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Qualifications QFA or APA qualification. Previous experience in lending or a financial advisory role. Location & Hours The position is Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours p/week) The successful candidate must be available to work in any branch office; Main St, Naas; Main St, Maynooth; Main St, Newbridge; Monread Centre, Naas; or other such location as may be determined by the credit union within the common bond.
